I did yet another oil study last month and this time I had four different materials to depict. Faux leather of a boxing glove, aluminium kettle, bamboo basket and onions. Till about 50% of the painting process I had no clue how it was going. But slowly it all started coming together.
All the surfaces had different degree of reflectivity and suppleness. And the key to get them was by paying attention to the edges of different shapes.
Oil Still Life Study
I think I got all the surfaces to a good degree of ... believe-ability (if there is such a word). What do you think?
