In many of my posts, I have mentioned how much I love Phuket spending my holiday there, in fact, that is one of my favorite city which will never make me feel bored. I will go there again and again whenever I get a chance.
It was 2017 when I have done my last Phuket, Thailand trip and after that, I came here to Ukraine and started living here. I have never written about my first Snorkeling experience and was not sure whether I should share it with my audience or not.
But, today I have decided to share one of my memorable adventurous experiences with you...
Before sharing my experiences, let me share a little bit about Phuket and Phi Phi Island. I always love exploring islands and Phi Phi island is one of the beautiful islands I have ever been, to be honest, I like it more than James Bond island.
If you plan to go to Phi Phi Island from Krabi, you can take a long-tail boat and it will take 90 minutes I guess to reach there. But our trip was from Phuket city to Phi Phi Island so we had to take Ferries because we took the route of Maya Bay.
So, our destiny was Maya Bay Phi Phi Island and it was an entire day journey. So, our trip started in the early morning at 7.00 am, a bus took us to the Ferry yacht. It took 2 hours to reach there.
We took a full day package plan so, our plan was to spend the whole day on the Island and then after Lunch, we will return.
So, our day went according to the plan and snorkeling was included in the package. Either we can go to snorkeling or we can take a boat and explore the Island. But we took both options so we had to pay extra. By the way, these packages are available in Phuket and not very expensive.
Now, let's talk about my experience.
In life, everyone has some memories which make them laugh or cherish their moment. Some memories always make us smile and we just love to recall them every single moment. Some are sweet, some are adventurous but it doesn't matter in which category they belong, the only matter is they are just awesome memories.
First of all, I wanna clearly mention that I can't swim...
I don't know how to swim so the decision doing snorkeling was not only a challenging step but also anything could have happened. But I wanted to take a lifetime experience and I was ready for that.
To be honest I had no idea where I am going to do snorkeling until I reached the destination.
When I reached there, I saw it's middle of the sea and I was like wtf...I thought it's gonna be near beach area or maybe not very deep water area near the shore.
First, I can't swim, second, it was a sea and later I saw I have to wear a lot of accessories for snorkeling which I didn't mind wearing them at all.
Obviously there were lifeguards but still, I was fearful of water and I was excited as well as nervous.
I and my sister both decided to do snorkeling and there were other people also. We were given life jackets just for precaution but I was nervous. The equipment was clean as well.
When I entered the water, first 1 minute I thought I was drowning, it was deep dark blue water and I can't remember how much I have drank salt water, lol... At one point, I felt like I am going to drown and couldn't balance myself. Later, my dad went there to balance me as I couldn't manage myself.
Well, I am not a water girl, so it was a challenge, a life challenge.
I saw many people have enjoyed their time except me because I had a pretty hard to balance myself and when I tried to go underwater, I was afraid, it was a fear, fear of drowning.
As you can see many people were there and there was nothing to fear of, all I had to do balance. My dad and my sister enjoyed it a lot. I have never seen my dad so happy, he was living his best moments.
I was in the water for 20 minutes, the first 10 minutes I struggled a lot. But later, I became a little bit normal and did my first dive. Though I was not lucky to go deep and see fishes as I can't swim and I was afraid of leaving the rope as well.
To be honest many people lived their best moment there... Really it was fun...Of course, there was a boundary line, we were not allowed to cross that. Because in the other area, the water was deeper.
To be honest, when I was about to drown I realized the vastness of the sea, I saw a dark deep underwater world. When I was under the water, I only felt the silence, when I looked up, I saw bright sun rays. I was under the water for 20-30 sec maybe or maybe less I can't remember.
At one point, I felt like I am feeling like cotton, I couldn't feel my body, leg anything, I was floating.
My dad captured those fish pictures...
It was one of my biggest life experience so far, I took the risk, I completed it and I felt the sea. That's all I wanted...
A lifetime Experience...
Love

Oy, you are brave my friend.
I can swim very well, nut I cannot snorkel as I get claustrophobia.
That's why I like great heights, but nothing that is closed up.
You certainly had a great experience here!
Blessings!
Thanks, dear, I have height phobia as well but I will try to do sky diving very soon because life is short and I need to explore...
Stay blessed my friend...
Ah! You will certainly enjoy floating free in the air my dear friend.
You also stay blessed and take care!
Awesome post, this is something I would definitely get into, I love snorkling. I'm from a tropical Island where swimming in a lagoon is a normal activity for me. Thank you for sharing.
