I missed out on sharing this piece art work made by me during the auspicious ocassion of "Maha Shivratri". I made this water color drawing on 26 of February to mark the special day of Shiv & Shakti. Maha Shivratri is a notable festival in Hinduism that is celebrated annually. It is to be noted that, we have Shivratri once in a month while Maha shivreatri is celebrated once in a year. As my devotion towards the Supreme power I ended up with this :
Maha Shivratri is celebrated to honor Lord Shiva and commemorate his union with Goddess Parvati. It is also celebrated to mark the night when Shiva performed the "Tandava dance". It is considered to be a special day. The marriage of Shiva and Parvati is believed to represent the balance of the universe. Shiva's dance, the Tandava, represents the creation, preservation, and destruction of the universe. The festival is a remembrance of overcoming darkness and ignorance in life. Fasting and praying on Maha Shivratri is believed to cleanse the devotee of previous misdeeds and guide them to salvation. As a dedication to the auspicious ocaasion, I made use of
- White sheet of paper
- Water color
- New painting brush
to draw this little piece of painting.
This is the abstract art work of Shiva in the tandav pose. I loce it, while my parents were clueless about it. Here is how I completed this picture :
Let me know in case you have figured out the real shiva in it or not. Shiva has many avatars, some well-known include Bhairava (the fearsome protector), Dakshinamurthy (the teacher), Veerabhadra (the warrior), and Sharabha (the lion-like being). Each avatar symbolizes a different aspect of Shiva's nature, like his power, compassion, or ability to destroy negativity.
