Yesterday I was cleaning and arranging our stuff when I came with stacks of new Pokemon cards my younger brother had recently purchased. Unsurprisingly, he somehow got some of my fangirl tendencies and now he's really into those cards. With his extra allowance, he buys stacks of them. I was curious about what new cards he got so I decided to see them. I'm not a fan of Pokemon although I have seen a couple of its seasons in anime, but when I saw his cards I do find them cool. He's really so passionate about collecting those cards, and while I was going through them, a certain card caught my eye.
It's Bellibolt! I haven't seen this Pokemon in the anime so I wasn't really familiar with it, however, its cuteness captivated me. I practically beg him to give me this card because I really find it cute and I'm into green stuff so I'm persistent about my request. Thankfully, after knowing that he has a duplicate card of Bellibolt (it's the same Pokemon, but this card's visual is much cuter!), he gave me this card. I was happy because it was adorable and immediately I stuck it near my bed so that I could see its cuteness often.
But this morning I decided to unstick it because an idea suddenly came to my mind. I wanted to draw a hoodie that's based on it, and it was hilarious how that idea came to me. So that idea popped up while I was staring at the priest the time it was almost the end of the morning mass! It just appeared in my mind out of nowhere, and when I arrived home I immediately did that idea, and now I'm going to share with you the short process of how I drew the Bellibolt hoodie on my green-haired OC.
So...let's go~
First, I draw a rough sketch of the hoodie and my OC.
My sketch is really far from what I've imagined but never mind I'm gonna change it later.
Next, I erase the unnecessary lines and draw the details.
And yessss, this one is far from my initial sketch but at least it's near with what I've imagined.
Then, I proceed to clean it by erasing all the guidelines and unnecessary lines. I also added some more details this time.
Erasing the lines that were irrelevant...
After finishing the clean sketch, I proceeded to color it, and of 'course I started with its skin tone.
I already learned my lesson on not using markers as skin tone because they really bleed badly, and when they do, they leave splotches and I don't want to repeat that mistake anymore, so I'll stick with colored pencils for now.
Later on, I proceeded to color the entirety of the hoodie and my OC.
It was kinda challenging because the markers smudged easily once you pressed it harder than you intended them to be. So presence of mind is really a must and that was definitely challenging for me lol!
After that, I added more details with a white pen.
That kinda felt off...the highlights seemed to stand out too much, but I already put it there so I just had to go with it ತ_ತ
Lastly, I put my name on it—and tadahhh it's done!
And that's the end of the process! I hope you somehow enjoyed going through it.
So see you on my next blog, and have a good day 𓁹‿𓁹 ʰᵉʰᵉ
