The "cheap fakes" meme isn't a mistake. "Deep Fakes" sounds a little too much like "deep state" and any government "official" wil avoid using that term at all costs. Black lesbian Carrot Top is a tool, but the people behind her aren't stupid. But those people do expect that the proles are indeed stupid, and they're largely correct.
