I probably will not be doing much blogging in the next week or two.
My brother passed away two days ago...
and I will be flying 1,200 miles to go to the funeral. It was pretty unexpectedly but not completely since he had been battling health problems in the last year or so. I will not go in to detail but basically he went into septic shot as a result of not taking his medication and eating very poorly. His organs simply shut down. He was 58
My brother treated my mom
very badly. Cursing at her and even threatening her. He had some demons in his mind that we believe he was born with. It was always a mystery how he treated a person who did everything for him.
As bad as I could not figure out
why he treated my Mom so poorly....well deep down he had a heart of gold. And had told me he was sorry multiple times that he treated her so badly.
I will leave off with this memory of him...
I was in a disc golf tournament in Georgia in mid June in sweltering heat. My brother wanted to go see me play . The tourney lasted a total of 6+ hours. My brother, bless his heart ,followed me around the course and cheered me on for EVERY freaking shot I took. No one ,not even my wife, would have done this. He had no sun screen and was bent on catching every shot I made. By the time I finished at 5pm in the afternoon my poor brother was red as a tomato from sun burn. I know he was in pain but he didn't show it. He was just proud that his little brother did so good at a pretty big tournament.
His Loyalty was unquestionable, and I will sorely miss him to say the least !

I'm sorry for your loss. My dad died as well from going septic. The rapid deterioration at the end surprised us all.
We will be here when you get back. Appreciate your giving us a glimpse not only into his struggles, but the flip side of honoring his loyalty, and how it touched you. Edifying others we love is important.

Sorry to hear that man. Mental health is something we take for granted and it can go downhill so quickly. Whatever is issues were, I hope your mom can forgive him.

My condolences to you and your family. My family is fraught with mental issues and I can certainly understand that struggle to find the true person hidden behind a most misunderstood mental disease.
That's terrible... May he rest in peace! I know how hard is to have a loss in your family. For me, it's been already close to 3 years and I still try to get used with... But at least we know that all our loved ones are in a better place now and they are taking care of us with each passing day. Stay strong!
That is pretty awesome about the disc golf tournament. I am really sorry for your loss. It has to be very hard working through all of the emotions that you have now. I hope that moving forward you can all focus on the good times and find some healing from all of this. I hope he is at peace now and no longer struggling with the demons that haunted him.

I am sorry that your brother treated your Mom badly maybe he has really some unexplained issues about that.
I really am sad about that because we only have a few siblings, some people have none but if we lose them nothing can ever replace them and for any part or member of our family for that matter.
