Image is very important. As our Hive blockchain starts into its third day of life, I hate / have to ask a key question. Sorry / not sorry ...
Early on in my long professional career, I learned (the hard way ... long story ...) the importance of image. If any of my fellow Hivians were to get to know me, I would be among the last people you might associate with making the following point. But ...
Image is very important. It has always been that way. In our attention seeking, time deprived, "social media" content-circles-the-globe-at-the-speed-of-light world, I would argue it may be more important than ever.
Why?
You have one chance to make a good first impression! It is all "up hill" or "down hill" from there. Which do you choose?
Which brings me to the point of this post, based upon my initial impressions of seeing the colors red and black everywhere! For this post, I will focus on the color red.
Problem Statement #1:
The color red
has a lot of negatives ...
The color
has a lot of
... associated with it. Are we sure red is the primary color we want to use for the image we are creating around the world? While we have so much positive attention coming our way?
Here are the first four responses to the color red, which easily come to my mind, without even trying ...

Image Problem #1: Danger! => Response: Run!
Fear is one of the greatest motivators of man. And it almost never provokes a positive reaction, but rather one which most will make great efforts to escape.
"Stop!' There is danger ahead. "Fight or Flight" is the common response to danger we hear reference to in our world today. Neither of which have positive connotations ...

Image Problem #2: Loss! => Response: Sell!
Let's see, what was one of the first phrases I recall seeing, when deciding to "jump in" to participating on our Steem Hive blockchain?
"Come for the money, stay for the community ..."
... or something similar. Okay, works for me, as I am primarily an investor in this "weird and wonderful" new technology. Everything else is secondary.

No one I would take any advice from wants their investments to run (there's that word again ...) into the red! It is associated with loss and something to avoid, as much as it is possible.

Image Problem #3: Errror! => Response: Fix It!
First born child of a mother who was a valedictorian in school, I was raised to learn proper spelling, punctuation, etc. Followed by years of schooling where English teachers were a basic part of my education. As well as Math teachers, being an engineer ...

The color red was always used to grade the work done in each area of study. To indicate what? An error! Part of the "conditioning" of this part of my life was to avoid that to the degree possible. And, failing (another word associated with red ...) that, to fix it!
🐝 🍯 🐝
Image Problem #4: Anger! => Response: Varies ...
While our responses to anger vary, based upon our individual personalities, would anyone argue with our basic response being universally negative! <= Oh look! 👀 There's another word associated with the color red! 😧
We are all well acquainted with anger. No one who is emotionally healthy has any interest in being around for any extended period of time ...
Closing out this portion of my post, I have only focused on the color red.
I could easily write another post about the other color I am seeing a great deal "in here" this first couple of days and that is black - darkness, death, sadness / despair ...
Okay, dear reader, you get the general idea ...

Solution?
Starting this post with a reference to a long professional career, a classic expectation of "management" to "staff" bringing a problem to their attention is the presentation of a solution.
Okay. The color green is a classic "counter" color to red and the image problems covered above, as is illustrated, in some cases. It is almost universally associated with words like "Go!" (vs. stop ...), "Profit!" (vs. loss), etc.
In short, green invokes positive thoughts of life and all that is good in it! Which, in turn, attracts us!! 👍
Okay @roleerob. What about this "wise guy?"
Problem Statement / Question #2:
Who associates
the color red green
with the word "Hive?"
Who associates
the color
with the word "Hive?"
Yes, well, that is a problem! 🤷♀ 🤷♂ 😉
Clearly the word "Hive" is almost universally associated with bees, honeycomb, and honey. Which are not green (but neither are they red...)! These images are associated with softer earth tones instead, like yellow, amber, golden, etc.
I could invest more time talking about this and "branding" etc., dear reader, but I am sure there are others in the richly diverse and abundantly talented "resource pool" we have here on our Steem blockchain, that can take it from here. Should they wish ...

Appeal "Call Out!"
Facing what I called "the Challenge" in a post written long ago, I will "break protocol" and provide a list of "call outs" to this post. We all want our Hive blockchain to "live long and prosper" and obviously I think this is a very important issue.
So ... I trust this exception will be granted some leniency ...
Hive Witnesses
To the individuals who keep everything running smoothly, without which we would have no foundation upon which to build our Hive communities. The (current) Top 20, who will know to whose attention this appeal should be brought, if they deem it to have any merit:
@gtg, @roelandp, @blocktrades, @good-karma, @themarkymark, @anyx, @ausbitbank, @steempress, @cervantes, @someguy123, @drakos, @therealwolf, @followbtcnews, @aggroed, @lukestokes.mhth, @yabapmatt, @thecryptodrive, @steempeak, @abit, and @ocd-witness.
PeakD Team
To the team creating the awesome UI with which I and many others are the most familiar:
@asgarth, @jarvie, and @dmytrokorol.
I started into the creation of a third group, Community Leaders, but thought better of it. If there is any merit whatsoever to the point of this post, this list of people will take whatever steps they deem to be in the best interest of our Hive blockchain.

Closing
My hope is this appeal will be received in the same spirit in which it has been written. To be helpful and to provide some "food for thought," as well as perhaps "shed some light," on an important topic for us all to consider.
From here, I've done what I can. I will be very interested to see where it goes from here. And, hopefully in response, what the creative brilliance we are blessed with in abundance here on our Hive blockchain does with it.
I’d love to hear any feedback you may be inspired to provide.
Until "next time," all the best to you for a better tomorrow, as we all work together to build up our Hive Communities and add increasing value to our Hive blockchain! 👍 😊
Respectfully,

P.S. If any of my readers have found any value or merit in what I have to say in this post, I'd welcome any cross-posting "redirection" you might have in mind, as I find all associated with our new community structure bewildering. And ... Accordingly, I might not have chosen the best tags, etc.
P.P.S. I typically have "footer" images in my posts. However, they are all Steem blockchain based, so my very first Hive blockchain post
will have to be published without them ...
Color red is the color of passion energy and success.🤗😍
positive associations we can make with the color red. The big question I am asking, is what comes to your (our) mind first?Yes, @yousafharoonkhan, there are certainly some
In this post, you have my personal answer ...
You have certainly raised a legitimate point. Thank you for adding value to this post with your comment!
Red is a happy colour for the Chinese that's why you often see it at Chinese New year and weddings. It's often associated with China, probably not a wise move now.
Very interesting @livinguktaiwan ...
... to know that. I don't believe I have ever heard that before now. Do you know any history of why that is?
The key to me is the first thoughts that come to our minds. The "first impressions" we have about anything. As my post here indicates, my own personal thoughts related to this color don't begin with positive ones ...
My dear friend, you should turn this into a proposal to make it real, in which a team of professional graphic designers, artists and publicists by your lead make all the research and produce the materials receiving as payment some of the hive in that dao!! You have some great points here!!
Send you lots of hugs dear @Roleerob!!
Yes @leveuf ...
... but I believe "that ship has sailed" ... 😉 Frankly, a waste of time and effort to write it, but I felt it was worth doing, at the time ...
Thanks for stopping by and lending your support though!
