Quarantine Throwbacks - Those photos cost me 150 USD to take

in GEMS5 years ago (edited)

Hey there! Hope you guys and ladies are all safe and sound and that the pandemic is not causing you too much stress and downfall. In all cases stay positive and try to keep your mind occupied with anything.
I am in a shooting withdraw stage right now. Professionally i am an assistant operator and work on movies, series , adds and an abundance of visual projects but needless to say, the current situation is not working out for me.
Otherwise when not working i still shoot a lot of photographs. Either film or digital, I go shoot quite often and usually carry a camera in my backpack just in case. Now that going out to hoot is not the best option in most countries i find myself in a need of visual creativity . The least i can do is check out shoots i have done, sitting in my hard drive ever-since i did them and had gotten no second looks. And I'm sure that many of the photographers out there have a ton of either unpublished or enedited photos that they forgot about. Gevven the free time we have now i thinks it's a fun pass time activity to checkk out the dusty folders and fin something unexpected.
So im doing that with you today in the hopes to inspire you to do so and share your shots too.
The first photos im going to show you are from a really fun trip i did with friends when i got my current camera (canon 80D)

As a lover of night photography and long exposures i really wanted to shoot at night with my new camera so i got a few friends to come with me and my car and we were off to this lake. I only had seen it in google maps so it was a bit wild to just decide to go there in the night having no idea how exactly we are going to reach it but the mission was a success
Leaving was another story tho. I had forgotten to pay my cars insurance fee and luckily got stopped by police... They were verry nice and understanding, which is not often the case here in Bulgaria but the law is the law so i got FINED. The fine I had was the equivalent of 150 USD which is not great, but the bad part was that the car had to be stopped from the road until i pay up. That left us in need of a rescue driver to take us home at 2:00 AM from a place that was an hour away from our city. We were all calm and didn't frustrate much on what happened. We actually laughed a lot and made a ton of jokes for the occasion and started calling friends to help. Fortunately one of my friends found a friend that was willing to take us so at the end of it all it was a good day and a nice story was made.

We waited at a gas station for a while and the dude that came for us was not a photographer and had a really hard time understanding what we were doing in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere yet again he came to help us and for that i am grateful.

I hope you are being helpful to others whenever opportunity arises and do your part in the friendships that you have. It's really important to create a community of good and support around your friend circles and not only. Especially now with the virus spreading, the time is perfect to show support and be good to others.
I wish you all the best and happy holidays for those that celebrate :)
