It is grandmothers to want to fall in love with grains, either through arguments that they are very nutritious or simply because they fascinate them.
I don't know how to feel about it but mine seems to have done the job correctly because when it comes to chickpeas I'm a fan. (I don't like all grains the same)
Today I share this recipe that has been a bit the result of mixing the traditional with my minimalist tastes.
For 4 people use:
2 Jars of soft chickpeas (you can also use raw but having this ease, and at an affordable price I go for this option)
1/2 chorizo to cook or string, it can be sweet or spicy according to the taste of each one. (in the photos you will see which one I mean).
1 medium onion
Salt - Pepper - Garlic powder - Paprika powder or paprika - Dried parsley.
Olive oil.
This is the chorizo or string that I use to cook.
For this recipe I have used half, cut into thin slices. Cut the onion into brunoise (small squares).
In a saucepan or large pot I heat the oil to fry the onion, until it looks transparent or crystalline, so I will know that it is time to add the next ingredient: the chorizo. And I mixed everything.
While this is happening, I go for my chickpeas.
I recommend rinsing them before using to remove some excess preservatives. I also do this by placing them in a colander and passing them through the open water tap for a few seconds.
Once rinsed I add them to the pot with the sauce and add the spices (salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder and parsley). Everything in quantities to taste.
Over medium heat, mix until all the ingredients of the spices are impregnated. Then I add 2 cups of water. And I cover them.
I particularly like them not very juicy so I let them dry for an extra time. As I am using soft or precooked chickpeas, actually the cooking time is used for the flavors to mix, especially in this case that there is no ingredient that requires softening.
It is the perfect meal for a day of trouble.
I have accompanied it with white rice, which if you put it at the same time, both things will be ready at the same time.
That's all for this recipe. After trying the dishes I feel it was so good to taste. You can also try yourself this unique recipe.
