Chattogram Hill Tracks is a wonderful green land of natural beauty of Bangladesh. Fascinated by this beauty, innumerable poet and writers of this Country have expressed it in their poems, literature and stories. Rangamati is the largest district in Bangladesh.The upazilas included in Rangamati district are Rangamati Sadar,Kaptai, Naniyarchar, Langadu,Baghaichhari, Barkal, Juraichachhari and Bilaichhari. An example of communal harmony has been established in this city for the coexistence of different linguistic, religious and cultural groups. Dense forests, Waterfall, river, Various types of big and small hills sorrounded by lake have added multidimensionality to the beauty of Rangamati. Rangamati has peaceful coexistence of eleven different communities.These include Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Tanchanga, Mro, Chak, Khyang, Khumi, Pangkhoa, Bom and Lusai. Chakmas, Marmas, Tripuras and their positions in terms of majority respectively . Each group has a different language, culture, religious customs, dress up and food. The Chakmas have their own alphabet, the Marmaras write in Burmese and their folklore is quite rich. Folk literature includes proverbs, riddles, folk tales, rhymes, eulogies, etc.Due to the influence of modern education, touches of Bengali culture, urbanization and Skyculture, there is a noticeable change in the cultural environment, dress up, food and lifestyle of the tribals. Nevertheless, it is still possible to distinguish them culturally. Buddhism,Traditional religion and Christianity are prevalent among the hill tribes. The use of costumes and ornaments is an indication of the artistic ingenuity of the hill tribes. Among the tribal people, various ballads, lyric plays and folk songs are very popular.
The main social festival of the Chattagram Hill Tracts is Biju Sangrai Baisuk. Chakma, Marma Tripura and Thanchangyas celebrate this three-day festivals on the occasion of the Year End and the arrival of the New Year. At present, the donation of solid chibar has become a major religious festival. Popular dances of Chakmas are Zoom dance, Garaiya dance of Tripura, Bamboo dance of Lusaids have already gained popularity. Indigenous fairs and ceremonies are held among the tribal people for various festivals.

Rangamati Hanging bridge
Rangamati Hanging Bridge is one of the attractions of tourists visiting Rangamati. Visiting Rangamati and leaving without seeing it means imperfection in travel. Built over Kaptai Lake, the bridge is 335 feet long. It is an excellent example of architectural style. Interestingly, even though the water recedes in the summer, water flows over the bridge during the rainy season.When tourists walk this bridge in winter, the swaying bridge in their footsteps evokes a thrill of joy in their minds.
Kaptai Lake
Kaptai Lake, the largest artificial lake in Southeast Asia, was created in 1956 by a dam on the Karnafuli River to generate hydropower. The clear water of the lake flowing over a wide area of Rangamati district fascinates the tourists visiting Rangamati.The area of main lake is 1722 square kilometers.The largest artificial lake in Bangladesh not only attracts tourists but it is also the main source of livelihood and communication for the people living in the area. Kaptai Lake is one of the major sources of freshwater fish production.Rainwater is the main source of water in this lake. Different species of freshwater fish are farmed in this artificial lake which covers a huge area. This Kaptai lake is not just a reservoir but a lifeline for the people of Rangamati.All the well-known tourist attractions of Rangamati such as Hanging Bridge, Rajban Bihar, Shuvlong Jharna, Peda Ting- Ting Restaurant, Aranyak Holyday Resort etc have been developed around this lake.
High and low, small and big hills with dense forest
There are very few people in the world who are not fascinated by mountains.One of the beauty aspects of Rangamati, a green land of natural beauty. The small and big, high and low hills are surrounded by lakes. Rich in natural resources, these hills are rich in livelihoods. There are a variety of valuable plants, fruits, animals. Rangamati produces a variety of delicious fruits such as banana, pineapple, jackfruit, mango etc.
Shuvlong Jharna(Waterfall)
The beauty along with the Waterfall has always been a very attractive object for thirsty tourists.
The clear water of the fountain creates a different feeling in the hearts of the tourists.The song of the fountain is the immaculately beautiful form of that real beauty. There are many waterfalls in Rangamati district. Among them, Subhalang hill spring in Barkal upazila is very attractive to the tourists. During the rainy season, the waterfalls cascade down from a height of about 300 feet, and the melodious melody captivates the tourists. From different points of Rangamati town, one can reach Shuvlong Jharna in a very short time by engine boat or speed boat.
Rajban Bihar
One of the holiest places of the Buddhist community in Bangladesh and the largest monastery Rajban Bihar is located in Rangamati district. One of the tourist attractions of Rangamati is the Rajban Bihar. Sadhanananda Mahasthavir Banabhante a Buddhist religious leader, came to Rangamati in 1977 to live permanently.The monastery was built to house Banabhante and his disciples.
Sajek Valley the part of Paradise
Sajek Valley is called the Kingdom of clouds situated in the North angle of Rangamati near Mizoram border of India. If you visit this valley, you can see and feel the free movement of clouds during the rainy season.Sajek Valley is almost 1800 ft high from the sea level. The main ethnic minorities on the Valley are Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Pankua and Lusai.Sajek Valley, a land of immense natural beauty, is known as one of the major centers of entertainment for travel enthusiasts. Sajeke has a neighborhood of Lusai tribes known as Ruilui Para.There are also Kanlak Para and Pankhoa Para. Kanlak Para is located at the foot of Kanlak, the highest mountain in Sajek.
The innumerable high and low hills surrounded by 607 square miles of green hills give great pleasure to the thirsty people. For the overnight stay of the tourists who come to Sajek, a variety of very beautiful cottages have been built near the hill. Bamboo chicken and bamboo tea are two of the favorite dishes of the local indigenous people of Sajek and tourists who come to visit here also like to take taste these food.
