Medicinal properties: The juice of the leaves can be used for wasp and wasp bites. Litchi fruit is effective in suppressing cough, stomach ache, tumors and gland growth.

Variety introduction: Among many varieties of litchi, Bedana, Guti, Madraji, Bombay, Mangalbari, Mozaffarpuri, China-3, Kadami are the best. Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has developed 3 varieties of litchi, Bari Lichu-1, Bari Lichu-2 and Bari Lichu-3.
Barry litchi-1: The fruit is ovate and red in color. This variety is especially suitable for cultivation in the northern part of the country. This variety is grown in advance.
Barry Litchi-2: Seeds are relatively large. Gives regular fruits every year. The variety can be cultivated all over Bangladesh.
Barry Litchi-3: Mid-season variety, bearing regular fruits. This variety is very suitable for home gardens as it produces a relatively large size of rose with fragrant fruits. The flesh of the fruit is fleshy, juicy and sweet.
Seedling preparation: Seedlings are made by cutting and cocoon pens.
Planting of saplings: The best time to plant saplings is in the month of Jaistha-Ashar. Seedlings should be planted at a distance of 8-10 m. When planting seedlings, if some old litchi garden soil is mixed in the hole, the adaptation of the seedlings will be faster.
Fertilizer management: TSP fertilizer 600 gm, MOP fertilizer 450 gm, gypsum fertilizer 300 gm, zinc sulphate 60 gm and organic manure 25 kg should be given in each hole. After 10-15 days of filling the hole, it should be placed in the middle of the hole with soil ball. 300-350 g urea fertilizer needs to be applied 3 months after planting.
For full grown crop, 2 kg of urea fertilizer, 3.5 kg of TSP fertilizer, 2 kg of MOP fertilizer, 270 g of gypsum fertilizer, 60 g of zinc sulphate fertilizer, 15 kg of dung and 9 kg of ash have to be applied for the plant.
