Mi mamá estuvo de cumpleaños el 24 de junio y por diferentes razones, sólo fué hasta el dia sábado que pude organizarle algo. Sin embargo, con antelación estuve pensando como ingeniarmelas para decorar un espacio de la sala sin tener que gastar dinero, ya que hay otras necesidades que cubrir.
Es por ello que decidi utilizar papel de reciclaje para elaborar unas bonitas flores. Para mí es fácil conseguirlo porque en mi lugar de trabajo hay una muy buena cantidad de este material.
Hice una sencilla decoración de flores y letras, tal como ven en las fotos. Esto fué el dia viernes a medianoche, ya que tuve que esperar que la cumpleañera se durmiera para poderle preparar la sorpresa: Al dia siguiente estaba algo somnolienta, pero con la carita de alegría que tenía mi mamá, la pérdida de sueño valió la pena.
Estas flores son super fáciles y rápidas de elaborar, además de lo económicas y vistosas que resultan. A continuación les explico cómo se hacen.

My mom had her birthday on June 24 and for different reasons, it was only until Saturday that I was able to organize something for her. However, beforehand I was thinking about how to decorate a space in the living room without having to spend money, since there are other needs to cover.
That is why I decided to use recycled paper to make some beautiful flowers. For me it is easy to get it because in my workplace there is a very good quantity of this material.
I made a simple decoration of flowers and letters, as you can see in the pictures. This was on Friday at midnight, as I had to wait for the birthday girl to go to sleep to prepare the surprise: the next day she was a bit sleepy, but with the happy face my mom had, the loss of sleep was worth it.
These flowers are super easy and quick to make, besides how economical and colorful they are.
Here's how to make them.
Vamos a necesitar:(Este material es para una sola flor)
07 hojas de reciclaje tamaño carta
01 globo del color que prefieras (yo elegí rojo)
Pega, lápiz, tijera y marcador.
We will need: (This material is for a single flower)
07 letter-size recycling sheets
01 balloon of the color of your choice (I chose red)
Glue, pencil, scissors and marker.
Cómo las hacemos?
How do we make them?
1.- Tomas 6 hojas y las doblas a la mitad del largo, cuidando que la parte usada quede en el interior del doblez.
2.- Dibujas a mano alzada la forma de una hoja pero sólo la mitad de ésta. Estos serán los pétalos. Te sugiero lo hagas en una sola página, la recortas y luego la utilices como patrón sobre las demás con la finalidad de mantener la uniformidad y la estética visual. Debes hacer seis hojas iguales.
1.- Take 6 sheets and fold them in half lengthwise, making sure that the used part is on the inside of the fold.
2.-Draw freehand the shape of a leaf but only half of it. These will be the petals. I suggest you do it on a single page, cut it out and then use it as a pattern on the others in order to maintain uniformity and visual aesthetics.
You must make six equal leaves.
3.- La página que te sobra, la vas a doblar varias veces sobre sí misma de forma que te quede un rectangulo mediano, el cual nos vá a servir como base para los pétalos. Asegúrala con pega en su interior (grapas también sirven).
4.- Empiezas a pegar en el rectángulo base y de dos en dos los pétalos de manera enfrentada uno con otro, con la parte blanca de la página siempre hacia arriba.
3.- The page you have left over, fold it several times over itself so that you have a medium size rectangle, which will serve as the base for the petals. Secure it with glue on the inside (staples can also be used).
4.- Start gluing the petals in the base rectangle, two by two, facing each other, with the white part of the page always facing upwards.
5.- Inflas el globo hasta un tamaño acorde a la dimensión de la flor que estés haciendo, y con pega lo adhieres al centro de ésta, manteniéndolo presionado por un rato hasta que seque.
También puedes utilizar silicon frío.
6.- Una vez seco el pegamento, con el marcador se realizan rayas horizontales que simulan parte del centro de la flor... y listo.
5.- Inflate the balloon to a size according to the size of the flower you are making, and glue it to the center of the flower, keeping it pressed for a while until it dries.
You can also use cold silicone.
6.- Once the glue has dried, use the marker to make horizontal stripes that simulate part of the center of the flower... and that's it!
Ves que fácil y rápido puedes hacer unas flores muy "chéveres" cómo decimos en Venezuela?
Para la decoración de mi mama, yo elaboré 3 flores de diferentes tamaños y las sujeté a la pared con cinta adhesiva transparente. Aproveché unas letras que tenía de un cumpleaños anterior (no recuerdo de quien) y las utilizé como banderines. También añadí unas pequeñas margaritas para complementar (en otra oportunidad les enseño cómo se hacen).

See how quick and easy it is to make some very "cool" flowers, as we say in Venezuela?
For my mom's decoration, I made 3 flowers of different sizes and attached them to the wall with clear tape. I used some letters I had from a previous birthday (I don't remember whose) and used them as banners. I also added some small daisies to complement (another time I will show you how to make them).
@mekhane helped me make a small cake and we sang the birthday with the rest of my siblings by video conference call via Whatsapp...bless technology!
