Sweet adventure
It's Thursday night, the perfect time for something sweet and special. My girlfriend and I decided to make brownies - our favorite chocolate cake to brighten up our evening. With soft music playing in the background and lots of laughter, we set off on this sweet adventure.
We decided to include another member in our sweet adventure. It's my dog, Badi. He was more annoying than helpful, but I can't blame him, because the smell of chocolate spread throughout the house.
He had the honor of trying our incredible cake. Even though he's not allowed to eat sweets, we gave him a little, it won't hurt him :D He really liked the cake, and kept jumping up and down for more, but unfortunately he's not allowed to eat too many sweets. I felt sorry for him, but it's for his own good.
Let's make the cake now. It's very simple and you don't need many ingredients.
You need:
- sugar
- chocolate
- eggs
- cocoa
- butter
You need 100g of butter, so I cut that much and melted it over low heat.
While the butter was melting, I chopped 100g of chocolate like this. The chocolate I use is "menage", it's the best chocolate for cooking, it's a little more expensive, but it adds an irresistible aroma and flavor to the cake.
After the butter melted, I added the previously chopped chocolate to melt it too. Also over low heat.
Once the butter and chocolate are well melted and combined, the mixture should be a little thicker.
While the chocolate and butter were melting. I whipped the sugar and eggs. I whipped 4 eggs and about 100g of sugar. You should get a nice and firm foam, so feel free to whip for as long as you like.
When I got a nice and firm foam from the eggs and sugar, as I wanted. I added the melted butter and chocolate, and mixed it all together nicely.
Then I added cocoa and a little vanilla extract. Cocoa to thicken the mixture a little, and vanilla extract to add the vanilla smell and taste. I didn't add too much vanilla, just a little :D
I poured the mixture into a previously prepared baking sheet lined with baking paper. I smoothed everything out nicely, and put it in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 25 minutes.
Our little culinary adventure was a complete success! Besides enjoying making brownies, we learned that it's okay to make mistakes - the most important thing is to have fun together. And the best prize? Warm, chocolate brownies and a hug while we eat them with a cup of warm milk. 🍫😊
