Today I come to show you pictures of my trip to "La Colonia Tovar"
A mediados de 1840, 239 hombres y 150 mujeres- de la región de Kaiserstuhl, suroeste de Alemania partieron a Venezuela luego de culminar La Guerra de la Independencia. El presidente Jose Antonio Paez vio la necesidad de repoblar los campos abandonados y para ello pensó en “propiciar la traída de emigrantes europeos”.
In the mid-1840s, 239 men and 150 women from the Kaiserstuhl region of southwest Germany left for Venezuela after the end of the War of Independence. President Jose Antonio Paez saw the need to repopulate the abandoned camps and thought of "bringing in European immigrants.
