According to the Grand Commander of the order of the Federal Republic [ GCRF ] he said "only fiends from the nether region" could have done this "dastardly act".
I'm writing and publishing this article with tears in my eyes and a sad heart, wanting vengeance.After gunmen assaulted the church, dozens of worshippers were murdered and injured. At least 50 bodies have been transferred to Owo's Federal Medical Centre and St Louis Catholic Hospital, according to a doctor at one of the city's hospitals.In recent months, Nigeria has seen an increase in violence.Across the broad country, kidnappings and attacks have been recorded. Initial allegations that the priest had been kidnapped were refuted by the Vatican.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has expressed regret for the attack on the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo on Sunday 5th of June 2022, and has vowed to track down the perpetrators.Shortly after the incident, he declared this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde. "In Owo, it's a black Sunday." Our hearts are laden with sorrow. The enemies of the people have targeted our calm and tranquillity. Governor Akeredolu said, "This is a personal loss, an attack on our dear state. The governor expressed his condolences to the victims' families and pledged to find the perpetrators and he also urged residents to remain calm, promising that "security operatives would be dispatched to monitor and restore normalcy to Owo kingdom.
