Please note this is a purely subjective review and nothing represents the direct opinion/meaning of the artist

In counts the odd click track, at the time, you might mistake it for an error. Then it breaks and in comes the smooth strum that invites you into the start of the song. "Stellenbosch se Weggooi Kind" translates to "Orphan of Stellenbosch". The song sung in Afrikaans, an official language of South Africa. The song tells a story of life in the student town of Stellenbosch. The chorus line of "sal hierdie jaar se oes, jou seer verdrink" translates to "may this years harvest drown your pain". Using the metaphor of a harvest due to the geographical location of the town, set in the wine lands.

The song telling two stories, is beautifully blended by telling about the ways the town has both elements that build and break you down at the same time. Whilst in the same breath it is also sung from the artist perspective and his love and hate towards the town and that he too hopes the town can find some peace housing all of its chaos.

Jeandré Swanepoel aslo known as @straatkat Swanepeol is a 26 year old singer song writer. He has been playing in bands for 11 years and recently started releasing some of his own original music. This being the first official release.
