Sea is one of the most beautiful and powerful parts of nature. Every time I stand by the sea, I feel its endless energy. The waves move back and forth, never stopping. The salty air fills my lungs, and I feel fresh and alive. But sea water is more than just something to look at...it has many benefits for our bodies, minds, and spirits. It also has deep meaning in history and different cultures.
I always feel better after spending time by the water. Sea water has many natural healing powers:
Good for the skin ( that’s what a lady needs!) Sea water is full of salt and minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium. These help clean and heal the skin. When I swim in the sea, small cuts and rashes seem to heal faster. People with skin conditions like eczema also find relief in sea water.
It definitly helps with breathing – the fresh, salty air near the ocean is good for the lungs. When I breathe in this air, it feels cleaner and lighter. People with asthma or allergies often feel better near the sea because the air is free from dust and pollution.
It relaxes my body and mind (yours also?) - floating in the sea feels like the ocean is carrying me. The minerals in the water help relax my muscles. The sound of the waves also calms my mind and reduces stress. This is why many people visit the beach to relax and clear their thoughts. If you have epilepsy like me, this is the perfect place to relax and put your crazy thoughts somewhere back in your mind.
And yes, it improves circulation – when I swim in the sea, my blood moves better. The cold water makes my body work harder, which helps my heart and muscles stay strong.
There is also meaning of sea water in culture and history…
The ocean is not just water... it has a deep meaning in many cultures. People have always respected and feared the sea.
In many traditions, sea water is used to clean the body and soul. In Japan, people practice "Misogi," a ritual of washing in natural water to purify the spirit. Some religious ceremonies also use sea water to bless people.
The sea is a symbol of mystery and power. Ancient Greeks believed in Poseidon, the god of the sea. In Hinduism, water is holy, and the sea represents balance in life. In many cultures, people believe the ocean has a spirit and must be respected. Oh yes, spiritual power!
The sea has helped people explore the world. Many great civilizations, like the Vikings and Polynesians, used the ocean to find new lands. Without the sea, trade and travel would not be possible. (I still think the Vikings were the first to discover America!)
mermaids, sea monsters, and lost cities like Atlantis come from the deep sea. (I love the theory of Atlantis!) Even today, we do not know everything about the ocean. Scientists say that more than 80% of the ocean is still unexplored! Freaking 80%!!!
The ocean is full of secrets. We know more about space than we do about the deep sea! Here are some mysteries that still exist:
Deep-Sea creatures – Strange and unknown creatures live in the darkest parts of the ocean. Some look like aliens, with glowing bodies and sharp teeth. Every year, scientists discover new sea animals that we have never seen before. I’m a little bit scared of what swims underneath.
Sunken cities – There are lost cities under the ocean. Some believe that the famous city of Atlantis is hidden somewhere deep underwater. Ancient ruins have been found in the ocean, showing that people once lived in places now covered by water. You never know, maybe it's not just a theory, maybe Atlantis was real.
Hidden treasures – Many shipwrecks lie at the bottom of the sea, full of gold and treasures from past centuries. Pirates once sailed the seas, and their lost ships may still hold secrets waiting to be discovered. Oh, I really want to find some treasures.
For me, the sea is not just water... it is life, energy, and mystery. It heals my body, calms my mind, and fills me with wonder. Whether I am swimming in the waves, walking on the beach, or just listening to the sound of the ocean, I feel connected to something bigger than myself. When you have untreatable diseases like me, this is the perfect place to help you heal your mind.
The ocean is a world of endless beauty and secrets, and I will always be drawn to its magic. You never know, maybe I will really find a treasure someday. 😊
