“Vila do Conde was a source of good captains, pilots and sailors, spoken everywhere. Most of them lived where they were born, in the streets that I have already mentioned: Socorro, Prazeres, Santiago sidewalk, Bajoca, etc. In the time when the pier did not exist, the river, in its floods, flooded all the surroundings of the shipyards, which are in the lower part of the village. ”

I took advantage of the afternoon, to show a little about my city, and took two photos in which I want to share with you!
One of the tourist points of Vila do Conde is the Convent of Santa Clara (Vila do Conde), it was built between 1777 and 1902. Inside there are still the tombs of Beatriz de Portugal, daughter of the blessed Nuno Álvares Pereira, that of the Counts of Cantanhede and those of the founders
It is currently going to be transformed into a Hotel Turistico.
