¿Qué es “En Casa”?
En Casa es el fruto de cuatro meses de composición, grabación y producción del primer demo de la banda Alt 441, y dicho demo ha sido trabajado desde cero de manera totalmente independiente gracias a mis amigos del grupo, al apoyo de nuestras familias y amigos, y gracias a las ganas de querer luchar a través de nuestros instrumentos musicales para hacer pasar un buen rato a todos aquellos que gusten escucharnos.

What is "En Casa"?
En Casa is the fruit of four months of composition, recording and production of the first demo of the band Alt 441, and this demo has been worked from scratch completely independently thanks to my friends in the group, the support of our families and friends, and thanks to the desire to want to fight through our musical instruments to have a good time for all those who like to listen to us.
Cuando pasas por un proceso creativo con tus amigos de banda (los cuales tienen gustos musicales muy diferentes a los que tienes tú), surgen ideas un tanto complicadas de ensamblar a la hora de las composiciones. Sin embargo, es vital tener una mente abierta y buenas intenciones de querer hacer algo nuevo para que surja precisamente eso: algo nuevo; Algo que sea diferente, algo fuera de lo común, donde las barreras se quiebran y dos ríos diferentes se toman de la mano para formar algo más grande de lo que ya son.
La música ha tenido demasiadas evoluciones con el paso de los años. Y tanto ha sido ese hecho, que el término de los géneros musicales es cada vez más difícil de asignar debido al sinfín de creaciones nuevas que aparecen cada día unificando más y más elementos que han formado parte de muchos géneros en el pasado. Es por eso que nosotros no nos quedamos atrás, y juntos hemos empezado a crear nuestra zona de trabajo obligándonos a salir a todos y cada uno de los cinco de nuestra zona de confort.

When you go through a creative process with your band friends (who have very different musical tastes than you have), ideas arise that are somewhat complicated to assemble when composing. However, it is vital to have an open mind and good intentions to want to do something new in order for just that to emerge: something new; Something that is different, something out of the ordinary, where the barriers are broken and two different rivers hold hands to form something bigger than they already are.
Music has had too many evolutions over the years. And so much has been that fact, that the term of musical genres is increasingly difficult to assign due to the endless number of new creations that appear every day, unifying more and more elements that have been part of many genres in the past. That is why we are not far behind, and together we have started to create our work zone, forcing each and every one of the five out of our comfort zone.
¿Cuáles conceptos abarca “En Casa”?
De las cinco canciones que conforman nuestro demo, tres de ellas son las que han tenido la participación de la banda entera, y dichas canciones son las que varían más dentro de sí mismas. A su vez, dos de las canciones restantes mantienen una propuesta más firme a lo que es un rock o un metal alternativo (de la cual una de ellas es de mi autoría). Pero en general, y musicalmente hablando de las cinco canciones, cada una tiene diferentes corrientes de unas con otras; pasando por ritmos de pop latino con rap, hasta guitarras que lanzan un poco hacia armonías y riffs rockeros; con ciertas influencias de reggae y toques de balada.
Las letras de cada canción, al igual que sus diferencias sonoras entre sí, son tan diversas como ellas. No tenemos limitaciones para escribir sobre amor, desamor, despecho, reflexión, estados mentales, fantasías, disparates, protestas, o políticas. La inspiración debe ser algo que nunca se deba cortar en cuanto llega, y es por eso que si nos gusta cómo suena o queda algo nuevo, se aprovecha para armar una nueva canción y moldearla a lo que somos actualmente.
¿Cómo fue grabar “En Casa”?
Grabar el demo para nosotros fue una experiencia totalmente nueva y diferente; ya que nunca habíamos ahondado bajo el mundo de la producción. El hecho de buscar tutoriales por internet para manejar los programas de edición y grabación se convirtió en parte de nuestra rutina. Grabar una y otra vez las diferentes voces e instrumentos, ecualizarlos aún más veces para conseguir el sonido que más nos gustase; también el hecho de hacer muchas tomas de una sola cosa debido a que mi familia pasaba abriendo las puertas o llamaba a cualquiera de nosotros. Hubo ciertas tomas finales donde muy a lo lejos quedaron ruidos de mi casa en un día cualquiera, sólo que no se nota gracias al ensamble de todo.
El hecho de haber grabado doble todos los instrumentos debido a que notamos que era mejor cuando probamos a grabar por línea directa en vez de grabar por los amplificadores también fue algo que nos hizo vernos las caras de perdedores que no saben nada fue algo gracioso y frustrante. Pero el ensayo y error es mejor que el éxito directo, ya que aprendes qué debes o no debes hacer y puedes ver ambas caras de la moneda.
En fin, fue un trabajo bastante arduo, pero valió totalmente la pena lograrlo y mostrar nuestro trabajo al mundo. La siguiente foto pertenece a nuestra primera presentación.

What concepts does “En Casa” cover?
Of the five songs that make up our demo, three of them are those that have had the participation of the entire band, and these songs are the ones that vary the most within themselves. In turn, two of the remaining songs maintain a firmer proposal to what is an alternative rock or metal (of which one of them is my autority). But in general, and musically speaking of the five songs, each one has different currents from each other; going through Latin pop rhythms with rap, to guitars that throw a bit towards harmonies and rock riffs; with certain reggae influences and touches of ballad.
The lyrics of each song, as well as their sound differences between them, are as diverse as they are. We have no limitations to write about love, heartbreak, spite, reflection, mental states, fantasies, nonsense, protests, or politics. Inspiration should be something that should never be cut as soon as it arrives, and that is why if we like how something new sounds or remains, it is used to put together a new song and mold it to what we are today.
What was it like to record “En Casa”?
Recording the demo for us was a totally new and different experience; since we had never delved into the world of production. Searching online tutorials to handle editing and recording programs became part of our routine. Record over and over the different voices and instruments, equalize them even more times to get the sound that we like the most; also the fact of making many shots of one thing because my family passed by opening the doors or called any of us. There were certain final shots where very far away there were noises from my house on any given day, only it is not noticeable thanks to the assembly of everything.
The fact that we double recorded all the instruments because we noticed that it was better when we tried to record by direct line instead of recording by the amplifiers was also something that made us see the faces of losers who do not know anything, it was funny and frustrating . But trial and error is better than direct success, since you learn what you should or should not do and you can see both sides of the coin.
In short, it was quite a hard job, but it was totally worth it to achieve and show our work to the world. The following photo belongs to our first presentation.

Though rock is not my most favourite style, I do like some of your tracks above, the opening part of the first one is for instance one that reached my heart in some way. Cool to read the band members all have a different taste; Not easy to get to some results then, but when it happens, it must be a great feeling. And it'll allow to bring in diversification, which I think is very important for the fans. I know quite a few musician who keep on doing the same, and that gets boring over time.
