Hi Everyone,
My worst nightmare have arrived. Working full time at home and home schooling. Work is stress as it is and on top of that, need to home school the kids is a big ask in my opinion. The day before I went to Kmart to get some whiteboards and markers to make sure we have the right tools to get this going. Honestly, I am nervous. I have also printed the worksheets school has sent us to we are prepared.
I deliberately bought a pack of multi-coloured whiteboard markers to keep the kids entertained. They could also use the board to draw anything they like. Make their words colourful and keep the vibe going. It started off well with both kids enjoying their work until 15 minutes later, Baby M wasn't interested and said he was "bored". To be fair, he is only young and I can't expect him to be sitting there for an hour doing some work. So he went off doing his usual play stuff. Baby E on the other hand did well, wrote all his numbers and then learnt the word "one" for number 1 and knows how to write them in upper and lower case. Very proud of him! I am going to continue this every day and hopefully be able to get into a routine. I will also try to introduce Chinese to him so at least can expose to something different. I need a few days to prepare for lessons and see how we go.

We have taken this opportunity to let the kids be self responsible and do it themselves with little guidance because there are lot of work to do - maids not coming for work at home - and you have to constantly feed the kids as well - looks like they are more hungry. Difficult time, but is really making us practice and get habituated so I guess, we will get adjusted and at the end it will be all good.
how old are your kids? My 3 year old is a shocker so its about balance in our household at the moment and hope nobody cracks it lol

Son is 13 years, and daughter is 9, and its hard to contain them. I have now given them Netflix, all Cartoon channels, laptop games, but they want to go outside and play with their friends, which is natural for them. I am now allowing them to go and play - with some guidance on maintaining physical distance, but I know, they will not be able to follow it exactly - If one in the apartment catches, then we all will be going to hospital.
Awwwww...I remember teaching my little ones.
It was fun until they became older xD but I still do it during the long break helping them catching up with the things that they aren’t good at.
I’m thinking of staring the home schooling as well. The schools here are closed indefinitely 😭
I usually use IXL for math and English. It is a great online tool but I think I need to get a bit more creative than usual to cover all the subjects that they will be missing.
Good luck!
oooo nice to know. We use reading eggs which we paid for and mathletics which is included from school. They seem to like it but yah this week has been tough. Hope you are well :)

Kudos to you from an Aussie living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We're starting 1 month of Martial Law today and I'm VERY THANKFUL it's the long school-hot-season-summer hols here till early May. Solo mom of x1 girl of 15 here - it's not an easy road!! My mum is in a retirement village in Moe, Victoria, and her neighbour (20 feet from her front door) was on the Ruby Princess!! Urgh. Watching the Aussie situation with great concern.
Stay healthy... and sane!! Thanks for introducing my to @kaminchan via OCD today. 😊
omg hope her neighbour is ok! So many people are infected from that cruise
please take care of yourself :)

Yeah... today is weekend... and I am like..."nothing changed really.... the only thing is that instead of working on the daily job, I work on the hobbies instead".
It's cold as hell in NZ today.
