There's definitely something not right with that. I think maybe it's encountered some issues, and its looping around trying to solve it, and endlessly failing. I'm not really sure what to do, but maybe call up the manufacturer. Assuming its still got warranty, they're obliged to help you through the format, or maybe get a replacement if worst comes to worst.
