I must confess that things have not been going the way it should be at this moment in my country and the main cause of the present situation going on is due to new naira notes redesign which has caused a great havocs to the life it's citizens.
People are left stranded at the 🏧 machine
I believe that everything should be prepared and done according to some rightful procedure to make things easier but that's not the case for the government of my country as they imposed cashless policy on its own citizens in just over night and this is just an act of wickedness as many people are seen languishing up and down and some people go to the extent of striping themselves at the bank before they could attend to them.
The major cause of this issues is due to poor circulation of the new naira note. Why will you tell people to deposited the old naira notes when you can't provide enough new note for them. This has caused a great scene among the citizens. People are are left at the 🏧 machine struggling to withdraw their own cash. This made things even harder for the traders to buy goods to sell and not talk of people who have no cash to pay for they bought when only few of those traders have a bank account.
I went to the bank today some cash and I have to left home as early as possible and I am lucky to get a bike man on time because the issue of fuel price hike is still going on. Despite the fact that I left home around 6:30am, I still met more than hundred people on the queue at the bank. And the funniest thing is that the 🏧 machine won't dispense any cash until 8:00am as we have to wait for some hours and it is on some minutes past 1:00am before I get to withdraw money and left the 🏧 machine.
The maximum amount you can withdraw per day is now #10,000 and this amount can't even last up to two days for some people that have a big family or has some expenses to settle since not everyone have bank account. At some point, people even wouldn't want to accept online transaction payment due to poor network.
And is not like that these new naira notes is not produced abundantly, but due to the upcoming election around the corner, many politicians have hoarded the money so that they spend lavishly during the election period. And all these money are bought from through banks and even the so called Central Bank Of Nigeria. Corruption everywhere!!!
The hardest thing now is for people to protest as the government sees it as a crime in my country. I remember the last protest which take place around the area of the so called popular area in Ajah Toll gate back in year 2020 in which many youths was shot death and some are injure because they protest against bad governance. I heard this morning due to frustration and scarcity of new naira notes, some people have started protesting around some area of Lagos state and Ondo state as they couldn't carry out their normal daily activities nor able to feed or provides for their families due to lack of cash or the cashless policy imposed suddenly, the corruption amongst the banks.. I hope that we citizens will overcome this ongoing situation soon.
I will drop my pen here, even though, I still have many things to write about but I will end this one here and please look forward to more of my blog.

It sounds like there are some serious issues and challenges happening in your country, particularly related to the new naira note redesign and the sudden imposition of a cashless policy. It's important for governments to consider the impact of their decisions on citizens and to implement changes in a way that is well-planned and allows for a smooth transition. The reports of people facing difficulties and feeling frustrated with the current situation is concerning, and it's crucial that the government address these issues and work towards finding a solution that benefits everyone.
It is not funny at all may God save us all in this present situation that we are in our country
Amen
