El Retiro es el parque más importante de Madrid y uno de los lugares preferidos tanto por madrileños como por turistas. Se trata de un gran espacio verde de 118 hectáreas en pleno centro de Madrid y se ha convertido en un remanso de historia y paz.

En el Parque del Retiro hay cientos de rincones que visitar y actividades que disfrutar: espectáculos de marionetas, músicos, lectores de manos, adivinos y videntes son algunas de las distracciones habituales.

Puntos de Interés en El Retiro

Estanque: el estanque artificial es una de las primeras imagenes que veremos si entramos por la Puerta de Alcalá. En el estanque podéis alquilar barcas de remos o hacer un pequeño tour colectivo.

Monumento a Alfonso XII: monumento impresionante situado en una de las orillas del estanque anterior, fue inaugurado en 1922. Los domingos encontraréis mucha gente cerca del monumento tocando timbales y otros instrumentos.

Palacio de Cristal: construido en 1887 junto a su lago artificial, el Palacio de Cristal es la sede de muchas exposiciones temporales. Inicialmente se usó como invernadero.

El Retiro is the most important park in Madrid and one of the favorite places for both locals and tourists. It is a large 118-hectare green space in the heart of Madrid and has become a haven of history and peace.

In the Retiro Park there are hundreds of places to visit and activities to enjoy: puppet shows, musicians, hand readers, fortune tellers and seers are some of the usual distractions.

Points of Interest in El Retiro

Pond: the artificial pond is one of the first images that we will see if we enter through the Puerta de Alcalá. At the pond you can rent rowboats or take a small collective tour.

Monument to Alfonso XII: an impressive monument located on one of the banks of the previous pond, it was inaugurated in 1922. On Sundays you will find many people near the monument playing timpani and other instruments.

Palacio de Cristal: Built in 1887 next to its artificial lake, the Palacio de Cristal is home to many temporary exhibitions. Initially it was used as a greenhouse.
