Hello everyone! đ
As it is now December, itâs probably okay to be feeling festive and talk about festive things! With such a crappy year, things are beginning to pick up again and we are actually looking forward to the festive holidays and hoping we will enter the new year with a better start.
Truth be told, we have been feeling a bit festive since the end of November. We went shopping for our first big Christmas tree and decorations as we promised each other weâd get one when we buy our own place with more space. Our previous tree was a tiny one and would sit on a coffee table or the stairway.
Without much hesitation, we put up our Christmas tree and 200 baubles that we bought from Target. We didnât get to buy a tree skirt as it was sold out both in store and online so thatâll have to wait for another time or even next year.
Of course, our furbaby got to be the first to take a photo with the tree. We havenât found a tree topper at the time we put the tree up. The tree was also looking a little plain however the plan was to continue adding things on when we come across good prices for the decorations. We spent some time looking at other tree decorations and some nice ones start at $8 for one and can go up to $20.. really pricey and canât justify that price. Weâve seen stuff go on sale after Christmas for under $1 so thought weâd wait and take our time filling up the tree over the years to come. Iâm not into the tinsel and beads so we wonât be having any of that on the tree.
Black Friday sales came along and we couldnât resist the cute decorations sold at Bed Bath N Table so we decided to pick out 6 of the decorations for our tree. We wanted more but we had to control ourselves. We ended up paying $3-5 for each of these instead of $5-$9. We also bought a tree topper from the same store and tree lights from Big W.
You could probably tell from the photos that we have moved our tree from the living room to the front of the house. This is so that you can see it from the street. Other houses on our street have put up Christmas decorations out on their front lawn and around the outside of the house so we didnât want to seem boring and not in that festive mood. We are but just donât have the effort and time to decorate the outside of the house. Hubby thinks we can do it some other year if we can be bothered.
Overall, I think the tree really changes up the mood in the house. We like to sit by the tree and admire it from time to time. Our furbaby Taro absolutely loves it and literally spends so much time being next to it. Next step would be to wrap up some presents to put under the tree đđ.
Furbaby looks so cute with the bow and that is a lovely Christmas tree.
I was going to say Taro lost is sleeping spot! hahaha
Bed Bath N Table has these decoration stuff after xmas for less than $2 .... i got all of mine for around $1 at Birkenhead point one year after xmas. Myer and those other home decor places have them too super cheap. Just gradually build on it cos it will cost you a fortune now
Hahaha Taro loves sitting next to the tree and looking out the window. Itâs actually a pretty cute sight if you see him from outside the house đ
We know the ornaments werenât the cheapest but couldnât resist đ definitely excited for after Xmas sales to go a little bit crazy over the bigger sales!
