The First Five Things I Did After Signing Up On Hive

in GEMS3 years ago

It's been close to a week since I started by Hive adventure!
I came here mostly for the gaming, and a little for the opportunity to earn some money for participating in the ecosystem.

Many thanks to @newbies-guide for all the curated posts highlighting what to do when onboarding into Hive for the first time.

Here are the first 5 things I did after signing up:

1. Powering Up

Before anything else, I wanted to power up to a level that would make my votes worthwhile.
I purchased 100 Hive and immediately used it all to power up!
It was my understanding that having at least 100 HivePower will have a better effect when casting upvotes on quality content.

2. Completing My Profile

Completing your profile is one of the most important steps on any social media platform.
Hive is no exception.

I immediately added a background and avatar image, along with an appropriate description which best reflects the brand I'm going for.

Only one small hiccup...
The avatar image continues to show the Leo default.
I have uploaded the image I want on both LeoFinance and PeakD, but the default continues to show.
Maybe someone in the community can shed some light on this more me... :)

3. Splinterlands

I came to Hive primarily because of Splinterlands.
Signing up and purchasing the Summoner's Spellbook was a priority!

After paying with Hive, I was off to the races in just a few minutes, and took some time to complete my daily quest before moving on to the next step.

4. An Introduction

Writing a post introducing yourself to the Hive community is essential, and also a great way to earn your first rewards.

I suggest using the following tags to help your first be seen:
#introduceyourself
#introducemyself
#myhiveintro

I also placed it into the Gems Community for better exposure.

5. Other Games

In addition to Splinterlands, there were two other games which caught my attention: DCity and DCrops.

DCity is a city simulation game encompassing an economy built with NFT tokens.
DCrops is a farming simulation game built on the same principles.

I invested a good amount into each to get both my city and farm earning a daily income!

First Impressions

It's been a productive first week and things are going well.
The amount of interest in the Hive ecosystem appears to be gaining more traction than ever.
I'm glad I'm here! :)

I look forward to connecting!

The power up is cool, every month we have the hivepower up movement on the first of the month
That way the whole platform powers up at the same time and there are many prices to be won.

But compliments on the first 5 , good luck there is so much when thing feel daunting just ask.
There are many hivers that want to help out
