Hello everyone! I have actually been on a holiday with my family in Penang, Malaysia. It has been a good few days until today where we are supposed to be going back home. Instead of being on our way home, we are stuck in the Proton car service centre as we have a problem with our car.
This is the waiting area and that's my brother. This is the most comfortable part of this area as the seats were large.
There's a television here for us to watch and it keeps running a news channel which mostly plays news and business related content. It was interesting at first but got very boring as we were there for so long that the morning programs were being repeated. The remote control was not available for us to change.
This is the other area where customers can sit and work with their laptops or any devices. Charging plugs were available too so everyone can charge their devices as well. On top, there's a screen where they state the number plates of the cars so customers can see what is the status of their car.
There was a little pantry area with food and beverages. Earlier there were some nasi lemak packs which is a breakfast made of rice, egg, cucumber, anchovies and groundnuts. There were also many cream buns but at the time I took pictures most were picked by customers. My father had one. Next to the tray of food is a coffee machine where we can get some coffee.
Another thing I found was a microwave! I didn't see anyone use it but it's good that one was available.
This is me while waiting. I was so, so bored.
This is to keep the children of customers occupied so they don't get bored. There was a little table with some puzzle toys.
I saw some artworks coloured by children pinned on the wall. These were so cute and probably done recently as the Deepavali festival just took place. I guess somewhere in the cupboard is a set of drawings and coloured markers to keeps children entertained.
These are the wall decorations. Check this cushiony wall out. It was designed like the zebra crossing we see on roads. We can actually lean on them because they were soft.
I got bored and walked around and found a bunch of new cars being displayed.
This is the new X90 car. It looked so accommodating and spacious. It is a 7 seater SUV so I guess it suits people living with their families especially when they want to travel on a road trip together.
Here's a better picture of it that I took from the other side.
I was surprised to see that the Christmas decorations were already up although it's still early November.
I've been here for hours now. Nothing seems to be fun anymore but I'm glad that at least it is very comfortable here and I did go out to eat lunch earlier. I would have reached home by now but now I'm not sure whether I will be going home today. Thank you for having the patience to read my little holiday rant.
I'm sorry your P1 is having an issue. These car actually become more reliable as they aged 🤣 said the 2010 Potong Gaga owner. There's this famous paragraph from the lowyat forum:
If there's someone open Bonet by the roadside with their hazard lights on, it usually is a proton 🤣 (be it spontaneous roadside tuning to chase a myvi or breakdown)
In real it's the opposite 😂 As we pass the 5 years mark more and more problems keep coming. At least that's understandable but a brand new item installed being faulty was unexpected.
You are right! I guess we will be moving on from Proton to others. Never had issues with the other cars especially not during a long journey.
