My dear friends... I've completed another spin around the sun, yesterday it was my birthday. Though I am a December Child I was born in Autumn as the season is not over until the 21st or Winter Solstice (the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere).
Being born in December, as a late autumn child, I feel an unique connection to the shifting seasons witnessing Nature's transformation and experiencing the beauty of Nature's cycles, for the ever-changing seasons that mold and shape us. And the turning of time only makes us hopefully wiser. As the year comes to a close it also becomes about closing a cycle and beginning another. No matter what your goals were last year or which ones you may have for next, we have a reset. We are granted a reset if we try. And even if branches go bare as leaves have already fallen, let's not forget their death also nourishes the soul for future growth. But now it's a time of introspection and we make way for Winter "bringer of light" as it hushes the world in serene stillness and crisp cold air.
Why do I call winter the bringer of light? Because Winter Solstice is the longest night and after that light returns. So despite the contradictory feeling that Winter is cold and dark, it actually brings back the light. And this is a recurrent topic in my songs. Whatever you celebrate it is all about the return of "hope" and the promise of future growth.
I steal the leaves but I'll bring them back in Spring (From my song I steal the leaves)
Here some impressions of a late Autumn hike... just after the leaves have fallen and the forest prepares to become dormant. We find ourselves spending more time indoors and it's usually a time that stirs my inspiration (while sipping hot tea)
Even in winter you'll find green moss and ivy and evergreen boughs. As a promise that green will always return.
Each year, December brings the gift of reflection, a time to look back on the passing seasons of life, and to appreciate the wisdom gained from the journey. Though I've been mostly quiet this year has brought healing to me. I have become a more organized person, started walking and exercising, improving my sleep and health. And I'm still not out of the woods, but the improvement is significant and my energy along with that shift as well. And even during chill misty mornings I just go out and walk and empty my mind and plot. I've needed this time away grinding in silence but I'm looking forward the new year to begin to keep on improving.
There's a quiet strength and resilience in being a December child—a resilience forged in the chill of winter. And when everything seems bare, lifeless and frozen, inert in the harshness of winter, there is warmth and life within. Buried underground "seeds await" to grow
Nature is wise and knows
So down deep life falls sleep
waiting for warmth to regrow
(From my song "Cold Winter")
As the year comes to a close, there's a sense of turning wiser, of evolving with the passage of time. Like the trees shedding their leaves, December children learn the art of letting go, embracing change, and finding beauty in the simplicity of a snow-covered landscape.
I delve into gratitude, in profound profound appreciation for the privilege of living, the miracle of existence, as unique as each one of is.
Don't take anything for granted, but learn from Nature. Light always returns.
I post this one day late but...
My birthday was yesterday 16th but I didn't manage to make this post because I was also saddened by the loss of one of my feather babies. I lost one of the hens of my flock, she lived in my studio for a month, but sadly she couldn't make it. It was hard to lose a beloved pet but also reminds you about the privilege of living.
May you rest in peace my sweet Marjory :(
This year has taken away 3 of my darling "pitichoos" Cariño, Camilla and Marjory... This is the last picture of the flock together, all 10 of them.
A happy memory of greener days
So even if it's a belated best wishes now
I would be grateful if you allow me to be bold and ask for support to my music. How?

ps. The oak leaf crown that I'm wearing in this pictures were made by discarded oak cuts that I collected. No branches were cut by me, but I wove it during Summer when it was green, and by the time Autumn ended it had changed like Nature itself.

And to finish here a clue about my next video... yes it has something to do with "sheep". It's a cover of an 80s song. Any guesses?
Today is also the anniversary of my favorite movie
Also as anecdote. My birthday is the 16th but today 17th I celebrate that on this day, 17th of December of 1982 my favourite movie ever (and likely the best fantasy movie ever made) was released 41 years ago. LOL and that alone should tell you that I'm old :). Proud geek generation X here.
Here a tribute to the Dark Crystal :) Have you watched it? I will never cease to recommend it
Until next, thanks for your support and just in case wishing you happy holidays fellow HIVERS

There will be cold days
And we will endure
I am sorry you lost your hen on your birthday, it’s always sad when they go. Lovely thoughtful post. I still have autumn as a hash tag until Wednesday…
I'm a December child also, but I was born on the Winter side of the Solstice. I'm very sorry for your loss of Marjory.
It was a strange timing and she had been luving indoors with us for a while, but at least she passed peacefully holding my hand. It was in the middle of the night but I am happy I was there as it gives me closure (losing Camilla was more traumatic as I was not there). Last thing Marjory heard is that she was loved. Still I could not shake off being moody . And happy forthcoming birthday, fellow December child

I have a similar shifting feeling being born on the 1st of September which is the first day of autumn in many countries out there. But honestly I think we are both blessed to come on earth on such importing dates :)
Happy belated birthday! 🎉🎂 It's wonderful to hear that you have a deep connection to the changing seasons and find inspiration in the cycles of nature. Your perspective on the winter solstice as the "bringer of light" is beautifully poetic, highlighting the symbolic significance of this time.
