Longest serving president: A thread

in GEMS โ€ข 4 years ago

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž

Yesterday I was watching the news on one of the very top news channel BBC to be precise and a particular news story caught my attention, the re- election of the Ugandan president, Yoweri museveni. After some time I switched to another channel and same news popped up. All the while as I was listening, something kept reoccurring, "Longest serving president" i got curious and decided to look it up

Apparently the Ugandan president has just won his sixth term in office as in his 1 2 3 4 5 6th term in office. That long right??. As at this time, he has spent a total of thirty three years(33) in office.

So out of curiosity I went further to check on other long serving president from around the globe and I found out that he is not even the longest serving and that there are some ahead of him.

Decided to do a list of top 5. Apparently, on a lighter note for all of these leaders, the number of years they have spent individually is atleast a year older than the number of years I have spent on this Earth so far๐Ÿ˜.

This is all guys, hope you enjoyed going through this

            Thanks for viewing ๐Ÿ’ž

See you next time

Hi there :3 Resident American here. Sounds like you're from somewhere else?...Are you in the UK? If so, I have some questions for you. Unrelated to this very educational post, but somewhat relevant.

I am actually not from UK but I'd like to entertain your question. Sorry the reply is coming late..
