My Cleaning Activity For Friday, the 21st of June, 2024.

in CLEAN PLANET5 months ago

Good morning fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. Today I carried out my cleaning activity within my community. There is an outbreak of cholera in some parts of the country. We need to make both personal and environmental hygiene a lifestyle. This disease has led to the death of many people with many currently admitted at the hospitals.

Cholera is an acute diarrhoeal infection caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, infecting people most often via contaminated water or food ingestion.

Cholera is a dangerous disease that causes acute watery diarrhoea in children and adults. Although three-quarters of all patients do not have any symptoms, the bacteria remain in their faeces from one to about ten days and are released back into the environment, potentially infecting other people. If left untreated, cholera can kill people, especially those with weak immune systems, within hours. In addition, even asymptomatic patients spread the bacteria through defecation, which can result in new infections.

This disease occurs in areas without adequate sanitation facilities or a regular supply of clean water. The safety of water used for drinking and personal use is threatened by unsafe activities such as improper disposal of waste and open defecation.

These pictures show how I carried out my cleaning activity.
