Looking back over the years, I will like to establish that at one point of our lives, many of us have participated in gambling of different forms. Looking back, I can just imagine how those days are, the days of bet with my friends concerning a particular football or even staking money on some random issues. In a country like Nigeria, I will say gambling has really become a very popular act many people engage in as ranging from either sport bettings or even some even engage in casino games.
Gambling has it is and with my experience in some gambling like bet9ja, I will say it carries so much or risks and even some people are still willing to risk and carries. Talking about my thoughts concerning chronic gamblers because at one point I was once also in that shoe as I have a whole lot of personal experience to share with you.
Let me start by establishing what is even gambling. Gambling is just you betting something of value which most of the time we used money on the outcome of an event yet to play out. Most of the time, I will say gambling is based on luck which makes it so exciting but at the same time quite so risky. In a country like Nigeria where I find myself, gambling have become easy for people to access ranging from online sports betting platforms, casinos, lottos and many more. For many youth, you can now even make your bet at your various homes just with your smartphones.
Talking about chronic gamblers because I was once in that shoe but I will not share the experience right now. I will say as a chronic gamblers, I see that as living a lifestyle of risk. These are people who are been so much obsessed or even addicted to gambling that they gave gamble and gamble to the extent it has affect them negatively. For some chronic gamblers, one of the constant things noticed in their lives is them getting into debt, losing huge money just because they want to satisfy the desire and affection of gambling.
Let me share with you my win personal experience. I was once in that shoe of chronic gamblers ranging from placing a bet on football match, placing between on numbers which we call lotto in Nigeria. I knew many of my friends then which are in sport betting and I must say it is not good. We all live our lives on luck no matter the analysis you carried out on that which you are betting on. I remember then, we will make hours of analysis on the team we want to bet on them. I make use of bet9ja then, we will check their past performance and other factors to place our bets.
On several occasions, my bet always fail as few only work to my side. As days and weeks goes on, I discovered that I was getting addicted to the gambling act as there is no week I will not gamble. I can save my pocket money just to gamble on the weekend football fixtures and even though I lose this week, it didn't stop me from not participating next week. Several amounts of money I will lose and even with that, I will still keep betting and betting no matter the amount of money we lose, even though we lose money at that particular time, it will not discourage me to go next time again.
Talking as someone who have been in that shoe of gambling several times before getting finally free, I will say there are a lot of reasons attached to why people gamble. For some people, it is because of the excitement, for some people, it is because they want to make more money, for some people, it is peer pressure and many more. Majorly in Nigeria and due to the economy, the major reason why people bet is for the potential to make more money.
I have experience the consequences of gambling and trust me, I will not advise anyone to participate in gambling because it can lead your life to the pathway of negativity. For chronic gamblers for examples, they constantly face what I call financial difficulties due to their obsession to the game and most time gamblers are always in debt. On several occasions also, gambling has wanted to affect the relationship I have with my families and this is what the majority of other gamblers also face.
