Cleaning the city is worth doing. 19-03-2025

Good evening, everyone. I'm honored yet again to post in the @cleanplanet community, and to share with my fellow planet lovers my experience cleaning the environment today.

My mood was swinging from one birch tree to another today at my workplace. I was trying to figure out why I was feeling such way and what must have been the reason for the unrest my mind felt. I didn't succeed in pointing out what was missing. There are days like that for me, when I feel really sad but when I'm asked why I feel the way I did, I couldn't really point it out.

Anytime I face this struggle, I try to keep myself busy with something so as to prevent my mind from wandering or getting disturbed. After doing a little work, It didn't take a long while before there was power outage. But then a good friend of mine came by, we had a long, fruitful conversation. I was so swept away by the conversation that I totally forgot I was sad some minutes ago.

It was just like he had a conversation with the power holding company to bring back the electricity immediately he leaves. I went back to work until the light was no more. It was already evening as at that time, everyone was already getting ready to leave since there was no power to work and no much time to start putting on their generators.

I sat, watching as each person walks by, some with their cellphones on their ear, others with stories on their mouth for friends they're walking home with, others with bags containing things only them know. The more people leave the premises, the more quiet the environment gets.

At that moment, this feeling I almost forgot started coming back. Will I let it cloud my mind at that point or should I look for something more meaningful to keep me busy? I was convinced the latter was the best option. So I picked up a disposable nylon to help me pick dirts, litters and refuses I see all over the environment, these are dirts different shop owners could have cleaned up and disposed or passers-by could have avoided littering and dropped these things at the appropriate bins. But their constant negligence of their environment won't let them.

I gathered all the dirts I saw in the nylon, took them to the waste bin provided in the city, and disposed them. The big waste container is the best place to dispose any refuse gathered because before it's morning the environmental sanitation agents will come with their vehicles and empty the waste bin.
