Hello, Clean Hivers. I'm happy to participate in another cleaning activity today.
Just few days ago, a young lady used a public urinary without properly flushing it with water, and when she was advised to do so, she didn't consider it as something necessary. She said she only urinated and doesn't have to flush it. She reluctantly flushed it after so much persuasion from people around.
I was so ashamed of myself on her behalf. How can a young woman her age not know the importance of hygiene and a healthy environment? Is it that they aren't sensitized and educated on some of the healthy measures to take on situations like that in their various schools?
That was a very bad experience for me. It made me understand that schools need to do more than they've been doing already. Students and pupils should be thought and shown how beneficial taking care of our environment would turn out. Even in business places, people need to learn as well.
AFTER USING THE TOILET...
Nomatter the purpose the toilet served in any action we took, proper care needs to be taken. Flushing it very properly and washing our hands with soap and water.
People should learn to see taking care of our environs as a priority because if our city is clean, we'll be safe.
One way to maintaining a healthy environment is by picking up liters and disposing of the accumulated wastes properly. That was what i did after work today. Here are some pictures..
While I was doing the cleaning, I saw a woman selling African salad (a native delicacy prepared with processed cassava)
We call this food Abacha and Utazi... This delicacy is very rich in vitamin C and as such contributes to a healthy body.
Health benefits of Abacha
- Helps in improving and boosting blood circulation
- Guards the bones from damages
- It enhances eye sight, paving way for a clearer vision
- Helps to prevent Cancer and other cardiovascular diseases
- Helps in the digestion process
Health benefits of the Utazi leaf
- Reduces the high rate of cholesterol in the body system
- It could bring relief to cough or wheezing.
- Detoxification of the liver and protecting it from the harmful effects of alcohol.
- Makes the heart stronger
- Very useful to diabetic patients because it reduces the high rate of sugar in the blood.
I immediately went and washed my hands to get some African salad for myself, I sat down and after enjoying it, I continued with my cleaning. I know that health is wealth and it is a healthy person who can be able to take care of his or her environment. After eating my Abacha and utazi, i continued with my cleaning activity.
The government had made sure to provide bins in different areas in the city. The purpose of these waste containers os to make it very easy for people to drop their dirts inside it, so that when it's time, the environmental sanitation agents could dispose the wastes properly. I always walk past this bin on my way home, so I make sure to drop any dirt i gathered from my cleaning actually inside it.
This is my cleaning activity for the day, Hope we all would put collective efforts to keep our environment clean, eat good food to stay healthy and on the other hand inform and educate others on the need for a #cleanplanet.
