Hi everyone, hope you all are doing great.
Today, I thought about our health and ways we can improve it. A popular saying states "prevention is better than cure". I totally agree to this statement even though some illness cannot be avoided but there are lot of things we can do to slow down or even prevent the kickoff of that illness. As we all know, illness brings a lot of inconvenience and expenses. When we are sick, we feel dizzy, bad and not able to engage in our daily activities. I don't like being sick and I know you don't like it too. Let me share some tips with you on getting a better health.
PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE
One of the best way we can avoid getting sick is to maintain a regular hand washing routine. When our hands have been contaminated by germs rubbing it on our nose, mouth or eyes can be very harmful. It can cause common cold or cough. So to protect our health and that of others we should wash our hands:
- After using the toilet or changing baby diapers for mothers like me.
- Before and after caring for a sick person
- After sneezing, coughing or blowing your nose.
- After handling garbage and disposing it.
While washing your hands always remember to use a running water and soap and dry with a clean towel.
BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT
A healthy balanced diet is essential in order to improve our health. We should eat food that are rich in protein. Try including fruits and vegetables in your diet. Do not eat too much sugar and solid fats to avoid overweight. While cooking make sure to wash your hands, cooking utensils and items properly before preparing them.
DRINK A CLEAN WATER
This means getting or drinking water from a safe source. We can still use some water-treatment products to treat our water and keep it clean.
EXERCISE YOUR BODY
Exercising our body helps us to be physically active. It keeps us in good shape and helps maintain strong bones and muscles.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Getting enough rest helps a lot to maintain the right balance of hormones etc.
Helpful right? I hope so. While trying to safeguard our health and that of our loved ones, let's not forget to keep our environment clean. My cleaning activity for today.
Keeping our planet clean can also help to improve our health.
