Everyone has a favourite sports. Some table tennis, some hukky, cricket while others love basketball.
My favourite sports is and will always remain football. The beautiful round leather game. A fun to watch and play, a game that unites millions together not minding the race or backgrounds they came from.
Football is a game played outdoors between two teams having eleven players each, one center referee and two assistant referee by the flanks. It is played by passing the ball from one team member to another untill the ball hits the opponent net.. goal!!!
This game is of 90 minutes duration with 2 halves of 45 minutes each and 3 to 8 minutes added time.
WHAT SPARKED MY LOVE FOR FOOTBALL
Have you ever wondered what makes football such a beloved sports for millions of people Around the world? The roar of the crowd, the Passion of the fans, that dying minutes goal are what makes football a sweet game.
On 23 January a child was born, a child who will go on to love football, a child who dreams of becoming a professional player like CR7.
I started playing at the age of 10, i watch the likes of Vincent Enyeama train with Eyinmba football club, as a football pitch was just 5minutes away from my home. From there my love for football grows, i started to watch the likes of Jay Jay Okocha, Ronaldinho because i love their pattern of football... Entertainment football.

But things turn around in 2008 champions league final between Manchester United and Chelsea fc. Young Cristiano Ronaldo made me fell in love with football. I literally cried my eyes out that night when Cristiano missed his penalty. I refused to eat because i know what i will pass through from my friends the next day. United finally won the game. I think i was the most happiest person on earth that day and seeing Cristiano lift that champions League trophy made my night that day.
I can boldly say that one of the reasons i love this game is because of Cristiano Ronaldo. Indeed he's "A walking work of art. Vintage. Beyond valuation, beyond forgery or imitation."
More reasons why i fall in love with this game
It unites people of different ethnic groups.
When Ahmed Musa scored against Argentina at the 2014 world cup, the whole Nigeria celebrated that goal. At that moment the thought of " I'm from Igbo, I'm from Yoruba or Hausa never crossed our mind, we just hug each other and shouted...goalll!!! The power of the round leather game. Didier Drogba managed to restore calm to the Ivory Coast when his country needed it most, and he did so by using football to stop a civil war that left thousands dead. More reason why i love football.football has thought me the importance of Teamwork, discipline and hardwork. No matter how talented you think you are, without hard work football will expose you. Just look at the likes of Lionel Messi, he is talented but still had to work hard to achieve his goals. And to achieve his goals he needs his teammates.
football is full of surprises. Who will ever think that Leicester city will win a premier league title when there are teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester city, Arsenal and Chelsea? You can predict football.
Every loss is an opportunity to learn and grow. Klopp lost many trophies before he won one with Liverpool.
that feeling of going to away match is second to none.. i love it. Many times i have played away match.. i remember getting scared immediately i saw my opponents.. they where huge, in my mind i concluded we have lost this game even before the match started.
I remember supporting the peoples elephant Eyinmba fc at the Goodwill Akpabio international stadium. One of the best feelings ever.
- It gives you the opportunity to meet new friends, friends that share same goal with you. Some will later turn family. 80% percent of friends i have today, i met them on a football pitch.
Do i love other sport other than football ?
Yes! I love table tennis too.
Though i played if for some time and due to the nature of my work, i stopped. I can still play table tennis but not perfectly as before.
CONCLUSION
football isn't just a sport - its passion, dedication and a way of life. You cannot predict football and you can never sleep or feel bored while watching a football match. Its a game of love, strength and oneness. You can't just perfectly explain what the sports does to you.

It's obvious you are indeed a lover of football, me too I'm a lover of football also but to be honest it's been long l engaged in playing football last but I usually watch others playing mainly on TV .
Football is a sport loved by many around the globe. I don't like playing football because I am afraid of being injured and hurt. I see others playing football on TV.
