When it comes to maintaining proper cleaning of my home and the environment, every small step counts! My well-being is the major priority when I think of cleaning my home. This is because there are illnesses one can contract at ease without a hygienic home, especially when you still have little children who pick up snacks on the slab or on the floor to eat. We may not see those little germs coming in contact with what we put in the mouth, and that's why being intentional with cleaning matters for me. In this post, I will share the steps I take to ensure the cleanliness of my home and environment as this prompt demands.
In my home, the major steps I observe are the daily cleaning routine and the weekly and monthly deep cleaning processes. It will interest you to know that to maintain a clean home, it takes efforts and time, but at the end of the day, I will look around and feel fulfilled, breathe in fresh air, and have a good mood seeing everywhere neat, and that's enough; after all, it's worth every energy spent doing the chore.
For my daily cleaning routine, I will first open all the windows and doors, including mosquito nets, in the morning for proper ventilation. Then, I will move room to room dressing the bed, keeping all the dirty clothes in the laundry basket, after which I thoroughly clean, sweep and keep the living room organized, wash the dishes, and dispose of every waste properly. These are basically the steps I observe daily, but within the midweek, I will mop the whole house using disinfectants and fleet the whole house in case of cockroaches and other flying insects.
Then my weekly cleaning goes beyond what I do daily. This time, I dust everywhere, check out for cobwebs, and thoroughly clean them up. My bed linens will be changed to a new one, and my window blind will be cleaned up in case of dust. The bathrooms, the sinks, and the toilets will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. I don't fail to apply disinfectant while mopping the floor of my home; it's important. Also, there are some high-touch areas in my house that sanitizing them is never overlooked.
Finally, the steps I observe monthly for a clean home and the environment. This time, I take my time to check for whatever I don't use anymore at home. It doesn't make sense to keep them and be occupying space. I will get them sorted out, trash the ones that are irrelevant, and give out the good ones that I no longer use. The whole of my compound, the electronics, and other gadgets at home will be thoroughly cleaned, and I do involve every living soul in my home. Everyone, according to their size of chores, shares in this deep cleaning, and it makes the work faster. After sorting out unused items and rearranging my home, deep cleaning of the inside of the home follows. This time, the bed has to be shifted, the wardrobe, the couch, and other heavy cabinets at home so that cleaning cuts across every hidden place.
Like I mentioned above, maintaining a hygienic home takes time and effort, but it's necessary for our well-being. As for me, I have taken my time to educate my kids on the need for proper hygiene and environmental care, and getting them involved always is not negotiable.

I like how you do all the major work every month end lol. I do the same too, I can't imagine doing all those heavy cleanups every single day, you'll get tired in no time.
