During Jumia black friday, I was really happy with the slashed price, trust me to grab every opportunity I see to save some money.
I wanted a smart watch, so, I went ahead to purchase it during jumia black Friday. This turned out to be the worst decision I made in the whole of 2024.
My package arrived, let's say on a Monday, and I was told that I could go to the pickup station to get my item. I got there, and what I saw made me scared.
There was a huge crowd, all waiting for their items. After waiting for hours, I could not get my item that day, so, I was asked to come back the next day.
I went very early the next day thinking that I'll be the first to get their package, but when I went there, i still met a huge crowd who thought the same way i did.
The staffs there were not helping matters as they would collect bribe from somebody and allow them skip the line to collect their package. We protested against it, but still, they refused to stop. Some persons threatened to report the pickup station, but still,.they continued with the corruption.
After about three days of wasting hours in the pickup station with poor mannered staffs, jumia sent a representative to to come handle the situation cause' it was getting out of control.
When the representative came, he organized everything well and I was able to get my package after three days of standing for hours.
The product was intact without any damage, so, I left with it. When I was leaving, one of their staffs requested for a tip but I ignored him as if I heard nothing and left the station.
