Gambling is said to be both good and bad, depending on the context and individual circumstances, but I get to discover that mostly it's only the negative aspect of it becoming known by people rather than the positive of it.
But I would say gambling is bad because I see it as an addiction just like drugs or alcohol, if one uses it compulsively or feels out of control. I get to ask why do people gamble? And from my finding I get to know that there are many factors that make people gamble, one of which is money, they believe that it's a means of raising funds for themselves without going through stress, they said that gambling activities support their charitable causes, and I get to ask why can't they engage in any other legit or legal way of making money rather than betting or gambling, because I see it as an illegal business that takes only luck and which also promotes criminal activities.
They also said it's a way of easing stress, and that they play it in order to relax their nerves, while some people see it as a form of entertainment, which provides a thrilling experience and social interaction according to gamblers.
I get to see their reasons, and I don't get to judge them because different people have different beliefs for something they love. But I could just say that engaging in gambling isn't the best option to solving financial problems or easing stress or form of entertainment, rather there are other legal activities that could be done to earn money, relax and live comfortably without fear. Because I see gambling as a game of luck, and oftentimes when one wins, they would love to invest the money again to have more, and if they lose they end up with nothing.
Gambling brings more harm rather than just about losing money. It deprave their happiness, affects their self-esteem, relationships, physical, and mental health, work performance and even their social life. Not only do the gamblers get to suffer, but their families get to suffer it as well, because it leads to compulsive behavior and addiction.
Another challenge I spotted was that; gamblers tend to have financial problems, resulting from excessive gambling some get into debt and ruin as a result of it, and that brings about exacerbated anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns to the individual. I learnt that gambling can harm relationships and can also lead to social isolation. I see it to be illegal as said earlier because it spurred up criminal activities in the society.
Though I love games, I never get to play this before, because I see it to be illegal, though they can enjoy it responsibly, but it's essential to recognize potential risks and take steps to mitigate harm, engage in something more legal and beneficial both to the individual as well as their families.
