Introduction.
Recycling is the process wastes like; plastics, containers glases and metals are assembled and concerted to raw materials to be used for the production of other items instead of throwing them away and seeing them to litter our environment. Unit also helps reduce the amount of wasted that eventually ends up at landfills within our environment.
Recycling Defined.
Recycling can be defined as the conversion of the waste material into useful material. It is the form of green technology, in which old material is recycled to make new products. For example, used paper can be recycled to make paper plates or toilet paper etc. Source
The following are the steps to recycling.
(i) Assembling of the wastes:- This involved the process of collecting recyclable waste from possible points, which may include; homes, recycling bins for collection centres.
(ii) Sorting:- This is the second stage. Where ite.s are grouped according to their kind. This is because each item is recycled according to their kind. (Examples: metals, paper, plastics, etc)
(iii) Processing:- At this point, the items that have already been sorted are broken down(melted) to enable them to mix them and reshape them into their new form.
(iv) Manufacturing:- This is the actual recycling. Here, the wastes (otherwise known as raw materials) are used to produce new things. For example, old bottles are turned into new bottles, maybe of different colours or shapes.
Conclusion.
You must have known that in @cleanplanet, we don't encourage burning of items. This is because recycling helps to save natural resources, reduces pollution, and is cheaper even as it consumes lesser energy.
We encourage recycling because it is one of the viable ways every one us can help save the planet.
