Farming, driving force of a nation's economy: Can a nation survive without?

No nation can survive without farming which serve as a primary source of a nation's resource for their industry, farming plays an important roles in the growth of any nation's economy ranging from provisions of food stuff to provision of raw materials for industrial products to export exchange. Most countries especially the African continent is blessed with natural fertilized soil for cultivation of different kind of agricultural seeds but it's very sad that most of these countries hasn't been able maximize this God's given soil.

A nation like Nigeria has a fertilize soil especially the tropical area in the south-south and south-east states of the country for growing of Palm trees which has numerous end-products aside from it's sweet red oil, yet they country are still imported over 13% of the red oil for consumptions, yet this is what grows at almost every man's compound.

Indeed, farming, agricultural account for over 50% GDP of most states in Africa even in other continents, but it seems like some of these countries who are blessed with good soil for cultivation which they have comparative advantage over, are now diverting into technology which they have lessen advantage and with high cost of production.

A nation like Nigeria are experiencing inflation as the result of shortage of food supply when their president place an embargo on the importation of foreign rice and other agricultural produces which can be grown locally, the banning on these products were to encourage farming activities, when people cultivate their farms, there's bounce to be abundance food supply.

in less than 3 weeks from now, we're going into harvesting season, I'm going to harvest my maize farm which I planted few months ago, farming should be encouraged at all means through grants, subsidized input and machines, when a nation is able to have a workable agricultural section, the economy of such is saved.

I think it is practically impossible for a country to live sustainably without agriculture.
