THE ECONOMY AND AGRICULTURE, MY REVIEW OF COCOA

Hello everyone!

I believe we all had a great day. The economy has helped introduce a lot of restrictions in our daily lives, coming to check how almost everything is twice the amount of the former, leading to a more demanding daily engagement in buying, selling, and many more. And the interesting analysis that I will be engaging our minds with is the thriving of agriculture in a demanding economy. Government workers are complaining, and of course, with mere looking at the system, no one needs further explanation on the effect of the economy on the population.

Comparing the rates of products before and now, the place where farming survives makes it interesting. As a farmer, it's very hard to experience a huge market-positive shift. The side that usually makes it interesting is the production quantity. That is, when there is a bountiful harvest, there is a reason to celebrate. Stay glued as I take you to my value chain.

To some of us who are aware of the cash crop, this is an experience I have had for so many years, and to my surprise, everything changed this year. Cocoa is very nutritional, and it is used in making confectionery products. As producers, our duty is to produce and send it for processing. This has been an aspect for just farmers, but for me, who has an enthusiasm for agriculture and health, I had to delve into looking for the composition of these plant extracts and their usefulness in health, which made me realize the antioxidative properties.

Recently, I did what is known as harvesting, which was successful but also money-draining due to the bull in the price of 65 kg of COCOA beans. Cocoa's move from ₦80,000 to 230k within my locality makes workers increase their share of the money. Hopefully, farmers, due to the current sale and price after expenditure, can still hold an interesting balance for other engagements.

Interestingly, I will say my path through my tertiary education is sponsored by farming. Venturing into farming at an early age made me see the importance differently.

In conclusion, COCOA is a lucrative business with a lot of potential. Do you know merchants around? Or you are a merchant; let's do business.

Thank you.
