Hello Hivers ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’˜,

In agricultural mindset we have different stages of plant production which is as a result of what it is naturally seen or obtain naturally in the soil by the cultivated plant. No matter what the soil you are using to plant there is always a very positive tendency for it to grow well only for so many predators to act on it. Acting on it will reduce a lot of positive response and positive results within the range of your farm season.

No matter what crop you cultivate there is always one or two or more predators attached to it and they keep on feeding on the leaves or the plant itself. Some will actually go to the extreme of making holes into the soil to consume deep down the produce gradually in terms of crops like yam potato coco yam cassava carrot and so on. And that is why when you cultivate crops you need to monitor it at every stage so that you will definitely know the end results of what you have cultivated. This is one of the mistakes that we so called farmers do. Whenever we are opportuned to secure and cultivate crops we leave it for them to grow up on their own not ensuring the factors that leads to the good production positively or negatively. When I plant any crop I give It A follow-up which I also make a lot of record to ensure what I have cultivated and to update it.

When I cultivated the ragleaf green vegetable plants, it comes with a lot of dedication but upon that here comes one of the predator I faced. Even when it's actually raining and I needed to check on the crops one after the other in sections I will always see that they are more small snails fighting up for survival on each crop plant as shown in the pictures below. When I made my research on them all, I was shown that animals like snails love to consume green vegetables of different species and that is why they find themselves more easier climbing any type of green vegetable plants to consume the leaves and the parents stem within few days. I took some pictures of the destruction made by the snails.

  • The first thing you need to do as individual farmer when you get to your farm is to observe all around the farm sections. When you do this it will help you to know your crops even when you are not on your farm physically. This is what I mean. When you continually do this task whenever you are present in your farm to ensure maximum showcase of your farm, then when you are not present you will definitely know how good or best your crops are growing even if there will be any predators attacking them.

When I got to the farm I noticed that there was a lot of spotted leaves which was as a result of the consumption of Larvae, I mean the stage at which the eggs transformed and changed into another Morphos system circle.

To the best of my knowledge there are hundreds of green vegetable plants that this little animal can destroy. I also see them a lot when its rains. And that is why the most farmers or most people try as much as possible to hunt for them after a heavy rainfall.

  • These is also what eventually consume and destroy the farmer's farm within a short period of time. I was moving around the farm premises most especially the animal section when I sighted this living thing. This is a particular stage of a butterfly but a very dangerous stage.

When you have a farm that this particular set of living thing or animal visit regularly then you are at risk of losing a lot of Farm produce. In the case of green vegetable plants and the parents leaves. It is not ideal to see this on your farm but when it is being noticed you need to take a positive action so that your cultivated crops will not be a consuming agent for them.

Why I captured this was because I also find them more on eggplant not as big as this, but they are always in minute quantity. Which literally means that when they reproduce on leaves.

It is always been much during the rainy season and this is why most best and diseases can really survive during that time of the farm year. If adequate support is not given all what you plant your farm will be consumed within few days. I have encountered them before and I thought it was a joke. I started applying a lot of natural herbicide before the leaves of the cultivated crops comes back with full Force again.
