Local farming in a native south-west
State of my Nigeria.
I was opportune to be in Ibadan, a local and native area of the region where we reside due to the availability of land for agricultural purposes only.
The farm settlement village is called Sonda.
There, you can either buy land or rent if you are ready to do any Agricultural project on it be it farming or animal husbandry.
There are four settlement around the vicinity and they are ; Atan , Sonda , Olomi-tutu and camp.
You can buy or get as lower as 2 plots to 500 acres of land to be sold or rented out for close to free prize.
It was after discussing with some of the farmers that I knew a farmer can make huge sum money in a short period of time living in a settlement based on Agriculture.
Due to the local markets around the area like Seraphu Market , Ojo market and others .
it is easy to sell farm products for retailers and consumers directly.
I confirmed maize and corn can be targeted during period of 3 month growth and harvest scheme which can be very income earning for a farmer.
The selling of dry maize or corn and the selling of fresh maize or corn and the gains in selling will be another topic for another time.
Others that plantation far more than consumption I saw was;
Cocoa , Plantain and Banana and Cassava plantations among all others.
I just know that farming is a trend in the native South West state of Nigeria but I have not seen critical and meticulous practice before.
May be it was because of my stay in Lagos where Agricultural is lackadaisically treated.

A just cultivated , cleared and Cassava planted land.
A maize and corn plantation I was in.
My story haven't end , the Sonda and Atan village based on farming only as animal husbandry is frowned at due to the rearing method called extensive care that most of the local farmer practiced.
Different medicines and drugs administered
You can only reside in Atan and Sonda keeping your animals on intensive care.
You can then decide to go to Olomi-tutu or Camp for animal husbandry.
Here we have animal husbandry taken to consideration .
Getting there .
I saw people which work is to rear animal for those that can't or are not opportune to rear .
There work is to feed and take care of animal effectively then when it is productive , it will be a ratio of equality.
We also have people who practice animal husbandry full time.
Meet Abul lateef who is a friend and brother.
his father practice animal husbandry for years and Abul lateef has been in charge of taken care of the animals for years now.
First in the morning he sweeps the
Animals house , get food from the store , put the feed in the food container and any other refill the water container.
I am chilling out there with the just bought cows.
The last reared and sold cow was five , " Abdul lateef said "
