Must preface this by saying I've never been what you would call an anti-vaxxer
But something doesn't quite sit right with me that the government should force people to do something that arguably does not prevent the spread.
- We know vaccinated persons can still spread the virus
- Some people have natural immunity. Why should they have to assume risks and potential complications?
- Big Pharma stands to profit from continuous vaccines and boosters.
I don't expect this syllogism to be all encompassing but I do think it lays out enough for a reasonable person to have doubts. This is why I believe the whether to vaxx or not to vaxx should be a matter of personal discretion. The government should not be implementing policy that would use folk's livelihood as leverage to compel them one way or another.
Reminder: The Government works for it's Citizens. Not the other way around.
You may not know this but there have been studies conducted that suggest that certain blood types may have less susceptibility to severe cases of COVID. I am fortunate enough to have a blood type that may protective from the viral infection per this study.
Ray et al [21] published the largest study to date in Canada, investigating the association of blood type with COVID-19. This population-based cohort study from Ontario included a total of 225,556 patients who underwent polymerase chain reaction testing for SARS-CoV-2. Among these, 7,071 (3.1%) tested positive for the virus. Adjusted relative risks (ARRs) were calculated after adjusting for patient demographic data and medical comorbidities. The authors found that individuals with type O blood were less likely to contract SARS-CoV-2 compared with non–type O blood groups (ARR = 0.88; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.84–0.92). Rhesus (Rh)-negative individuals were also less likely to be diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 (ARR = 0.79; 95% CI, 0.73–0.85). Interestingly, individuals with O-negative blood type were further protected against viral infection (ARR = 0.74; 95% CI, 0.66–0.83). Type O individuals were at decreased risk compared to non–type O individuals with regard to secondary outcomes, such as severe illness and death (ARR = 0.87; 95% CI, 0.78–0.97). Rh-negative individuals were also at lower risk of severe illness and mortality compared to Rh-positive patients (ARR = 0.82; 95% CI, 0.68–0.96). Taken together, the authors concluded that type O and Rh-negative blood groups may be protective against SARS-CoV-2 infection and illness.
Yes, I am Type O Negative which is coincidentally also an American Gothic Metal Band
Perfect tune for Halloween coming up. 🎃
In conclusion, people should be able to manage their risk using their own judgment. Obviously, DYOR. If the vaccine is something you judge is best for you personally. Go for it! If not, take whatever precautions you judge are best for you, your family and society at large. It should be YOUR decision.
Thank you! I just published an article about this as well! It's been 10 months since I had Covid, and I just tested positive for the antibodies. Why do I have to take the vaccine to get antibodies, if I already have antibodies? My article is here if you want to take a look: https://peakd.com/hive-120078/@swayzilla/antibodies-developed-through-natural-response-to-covid-19
Well, the FDA is clearly pushing back but they are being bullied by the Biden admin. Two resigned, how long until the government decides to shut it down?
Yes, I noticed that as well on the booster shots. Hopefully soon but I don't have a lot of confidence in them.
16-2 is a clear rejection. It is clearly felt in the Pfizer stock. Pfizer is basically the US government at this point.
They will probably get bullied into approving boosters though.
In my personal opinion this is what you and others are missing, everyone is told that the vaccines are free to them so no one ask questions about how the vaccines are distributed and sold behind the scenes. You keep hearing the vaccines are free, the vaccines is free over and over again. Yes that is a fact. They are in fact free. To you. That's the problem, you know that old saying if you say something enough people become convinced of it so they've spent all their time telling you the vaccines are free. Free, free, free, free, free. See now you believe it unquestionably. You have no reason to doubt that the government is giving away free vaccines. What you are missing and so many others are missing is that means to the populace. That just means the insurers can't charge you, medicaid, medicare can't charge you but it does not means that the government who is in charge of the vaccine distribution can't sell those vaccines to insurers, Walmart, Walgreens, medicaid and medicare. Now if an individual doesn't have insurance the facility giving the shot can get reimbursed by a government program:
What Providers Need to Know About COVID-19 Vaccine Fees
and Reimbursements
"COVID-19 vaccines are 100% free to all individuals in the U.S. Only insurance companies
or the federal government can be billed for vaccine administration fees, not patients."< a href = https://www.hrsa.gov/sites/default/files/hrsa/coronavirus/provider-covid-vaccine-factsheet.pdf">
If you read through all the guidelines it repeatedly, once again, reminds everyone that it is free to all individuals. Individuals, not insurance companies, not Walmarts, Walgreens, etc., just to you and everyone else. Free, free, free, free, free.
So let's take a look at the case of medicaid/medicare, the government is buying them for $39.00 but charging medicaid/medicare 49.71 according to one man who got his statement. < a href = "https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnlamattina/2021/04/15/surprising-cost-for-covid-19-vaccine-administration/?sh=492b2146362e"> Next you will ask me how that can be the government selling the vaccines to the government but they all have their individual departmental budgets that's how. So we know for a fact that for every vaccine sold to medicaid/medicare whatever department within the government distributing the vaccines (as the government has sole distribution rights to the vaccines right now) they made ten bucks a pop. Never mind the other cost associated with the shot like the administration fee because that all comes out of medicaid/medicare funding already allotted in their budget using, of course, tax payers money. So when many folks went to those convention centers set up to administer shot to an expected massive amount of people when the shots became available those who were there giving the shots were getting a whopping upwards of $144.00 per shot to the tune of some making thirty five thousand dollars a day. So now they've scaled down to people being able to get them just about anywhere. The big hidden question is what is Walgreens, Walmarts or any other large retailer or facility buying those vaccines for? They in essence, just like any other shot you'd get from a pharmacy or medical facility are buying those vaccines from the government then billing the insurance companies and you'd better believe it's not for zero profit on them. So you see everyone is making the bucks off these vaccines. For the uninsured there's the reimbursement program, money set aside from the covid stimulus package (tax payers money) to reimburse for those without insurance but those with insurance the insurer is paying for them, as always the insurer is probably setting a price ceiling for what they will pay depending upon the number of members they have, that's the way it's always done but it's never done without allowing for facilities and big retailers to make their fair share. So to answer your question as to why the big push it's all about the money but all they want you to understand is that it is FREE, free, free, free, free so you don't see the big picture.
I had to get the vaccine for work. My wife and in-laws decided to take it. I'm meh about the whole thing. There's something about every vaccine that bothers me.
At work, we're required to have safety data sheets for every type of chemical at the facility. We need to do its hazards, toxicity, how it works, and what to do in the event of a problem (ingestion, inhalation, spill). Such information is not possible with vaccines.
How vaccines get made, how it works, how effective, and how they go wrong are under so many levels of politics that you literally have to take them on blind faith. Even guidelines on actions you should take in the event of a side effect are diluted with terms of "only rarely occurs".
I believe people should be allowed to make their own choices, especially as it regards their health, but then, their choice should in no way endanger someone else. Imagine someone rejecting vax and become infected someday and putting others at risk?
If in the long run vaxx helps to cub pandemics/endemics/epidemics and the people refuses it in the present, it's quite frustrating on the Government and medical interventions trying to find solutions.
Regardless, I still think everyone should be able to make their own decisions, however, the way to go about it is, enlighten on the usefulness of having it and the demerits of not. Let them be their own judge.
I do concur and don't necessarily doubt the efficacy of the vaccine but as you stated it should be a personal decision. Thanks for the thoughtful comment!
You should doubt the efficacy, Britain just announced they are doing away with the covid vaccine passport system because underneath it all they have to admit the vaccine isn't working. Of 117 people who died when the delta variant hit there at the beginning 47 of those people were over the age of fifty and vaccinated. The average deaths there for the vaccinated over age fifty group is sixty five percent.
Yes, I understand strain on hospital system is another argument. If you are an at risk individual, this is something to keep in mind.
From my perspective forcing people to take the vacine is not good.government should allowe people to decide on their own.
it's always sad when medicine gets mixed with politics
I think you mean pharma, politics and money, see my comment below.
How hilarious...
You get vaccinated and you're still very prone to the disease... So why get vaxed at all?
This is like more prove that the vaccines are still under test-runs.
Hmmmmm, This stuff about Covid-19 vaccine is really getting wild and out of hand, I don't even know what to believe again.
It's so so confusing.
See my comment below and you'll get the reason why behind the push.
I don't understand what you mean by, I will get the reason why.😗
Yes you will get a pretty good reason why.
Hmmmmmm, still sounds mysterious.
