A Tiny View
It was a nice day on Monday. It was also oil change and tire change day. That meant waiting. Waiting is rather boring. Waiting options, sit inside and listen to Dr. Phill try to be all smart and everything while doing his thing, or walk out around back and sit on the ground.
Fortunately I had my camera with me. My last post was of a moose and her baby calf. Moose are pretty big critters. No moose bothered us while we sitting and waiting. So here are a few of the tiny things I saw.
I do not know what the name of the flower or plant is, but when your sitting on the ground they look pretty nice. there were not a lot of them but still one is better than none.
An interesting range of colors in the leafs, and it was getting ready to flower at the top. Once again no clue as to it's name, after all I am not a botanist, I'm not an -ist of anything, just a guy with camera in hand.
I liked how waxy green these leaves looked. I think they may be related to the ones above but I am not sure about that.
Close up of a red leaf, we have a little while before fall gets here, but it is kind of nice to see a variety of color in the leaves. Soon we will have a lot of color from the wild flowers when they start to bloom. For now the little white flowers are out and about.
We have a few different clovers here in Alaska. this is the medium leaf one, there is a variety that has leafs twice as big and one that has leafs twice as small. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a four leaf one of each size, and then again maybe not.
I don't know why, but I do like taking pictures of pine cones. It could be due to the color, or to the shape or like the clover because of how varied they can be in size. I just find them fascinating, natures Fibonacci markers like the sunflower.
I don't know if that is what it is really called or not, and the image is just a little bit to bright to get a really nice view of it, but to me this moss reminds me of coral, the way it branches out and grows. I missed getting a nice picture of the dark green hairy thin moss, perhaps later in the year I will get some shots.
A little bit to much sun shining through, but this was the area we sat by. An old dirt trail that really goes no where, we have a lot of those in Alaska. This one was likely a short cut to work by an employee of the tire place a long time ago, or just a trail that a few people broke to have fun on with there small trucks and 4 wheelers.
Do you take the shot by your self ?
if you did, nice shot taken.
Yes, they were all taken with my Nikon camera and 35 mm lens. Some were not real easy to do, like the red leaf one, it was in an awkward area.
