Is this just an end of summer public holiday, or is this down to a Korean festival/traditional celebration?

One of two major holidays in Korea. A deeply Confucius holiday rooted in respecting elders and ancestor worship. Not my cup of tea but it's good to be with family.
Happy holidays in advance @mineoply
Can you explain more about the Confucius holiday? What is the philosophy/tradition behind it?
Chuseok is a holiday to honor and give thanks to ancestors before you.
