It's a circus of epic proportions. One day, I was suddenly banned from Telegram (no great loss) for no reason whatsoever.
"Your phone number has been banned. If you believe this is in error, please send a message to XXX account."
Except you have to be logged into Telegram to send a message. Which you can't be, if you're banned.
I never pursued it further... not worth it, to recover some $4.29 of some Telegram based memecoin from playing a game.
I get what you're saying. It's so ridiculous what happened to you too. I'm glad you're cool without Telegram.
I expect the next stage to introduce digital IDs and identification for all users except AI agents (of course), who will dominate these networks. What people don't understand is that a verification badge/checkmark doesn't make you immune to being banned or suspended from their circus, as you rightfully stated.
