Charity simply means rendering of help and assistance to those who are in need. It can be in form of money, food , house or as small as removing stone that can injure people from the road.
Charity is a crucial thing that we must not overlook. Among the several ways of increasing someone's wealth, charity is the most efficient way that is free risk. Majority of people do not know the high positive effect of charity. If you do an investment or you involve in a bussiness, you can actually gain or loose from the bussiness. But believe me , if you take part of your money and you use it for charity with good intentions, you can never loose or lack and all your ways will be opening.
Charity is not only base on giving something out, Showing of love to people arround you can also be regarded as charity. Ordinary smile can as well regarded as charity.

In Islam,
There are different ways of doing charity the two most popular and important are obligatory charity also known as zakat and voluntary charity which is also known as sadaqa . Zakat is giving out of specific pecentage of one's extra wealth to the poor and the needy while sadaqah can be issue to anyone in several ways which include saying good things, wise advice to those who need it, helping people in difficult time, a smile and so on.
Also, it can be seen from Hadith where the prophet said “Your smile for your brother is a charity. Your removal of stones, thorns or bones from the paths of people is a charity..
This means if you don't have money or food to do charity, there's still a lot of ways for you if you want to involve in Charity
Furthermore, in the holy Bible,
Isaiah 58:10 says
And if you give yourself to the hungry
And satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
Then your light will rise in darkness
And your gloom will become like midday.
Also, Matthew 5:42 ; "Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you".
Please, ensure you are doing charity consistently with good intentions as this will increase your ways, save you from calamity and open ways for you.
