Yes, sure, why not? it is much fun!
NB. dedicated lens can be expensive, but there are other good cheaper solutions. You may get manual lens (like INDUSТАR-61L/Z 2,8/50 - its comically cheap) that go alone pretty well with macro coils. Another great option for macro is Raynox dcr-250.
