Although I live in a city at the confluence of two large European rivers, I rarely have the opportunity, except when I walk to a river or lake and stop at a marina or port, to see ships and boats.
I live on the top floor of a building, but due to the distance from those two rivers, I can't see the water from my window.
And where there is no water in sight, there are no ships either 🙂
But even when I pass by boats or ships on rivers or lakes in my city, they are not as interesting to me as boats and ships on the sea.
True, there are river cruisers docked at the port in my town every day, but compared to the cruisers that sail the seas, these look like baby cruisers.
In this post, I would not write about large ships and cruise ships.
I would write about the boats, which I photographed during my tour of Istria.
Now I remembered😂
When I mentioned boats and Istria, I didn't share experiences from my travels along the Istrian coast on #Worldmappin. I will do that in one of the next posts 🙂
Whenever I find myself in a place on the seashore, I love to visit the marina, which is usually right next to the central streets of that place.
It might be a little different for cities (like in my city, because of the distance from the coast), but there are no big cities in Istria, so all the boats are very close to the main streets and attractions of that place.
Some of the pictures of the boats I took on that occasion can be seen below.
Small fishing or tourist boats, catamarans, speedboats with inboard or outboard motors, tied to the docks of well-organized marinas or small wooden docks, while swaying in the calm water, are waiting for some new rides.
Although I took pictures of boats and small boats in every place I visited: from Medulin (probably our friend @borjan will recognize the marina of this place 🙂), Pula, Fazana, Rovinj and Poreč, I took one of the most beautiful pictures of a boat just 150m from the most famous attraction of the Istrian peninsula, the Amphitheater in Pula.
It's not this picture of boats with clouds in the sky, although there are a lot of interesting boats there too...
In the Pula marina, at dusk, when the sun went down behind the horizon and the sky was illuminated with warm tones, I captured this beautiful shot:
A lulled boat waiting for a new day, which is also my contribution to this week's #POBPhotocontest given by @friendlymoose

You may not have the comfort of seeing it from the window, but you do have the joy of being in an area where you can appreciate them and capture beautiful photos like the ones you share today. All these landscapes with boats look great, especially where you can see the sunset. There is something magical about the sea and you share the essence of that in your words and images, thank you for sharing them...
I'm glad you like my photos. I love water, seas, rivers and lakes and whenever I have the opportunity, I enjoy the sounds and smells that their proximity brings.
When the view is beautiful, it is an additional plus, when I can record one of these photos.
