A Circular Walk around the Forest

It was a lovely fine day today as I took a walk around the woods. The air was crisp, and a bit of overnight frost lingered on the roads. Although there was a chill in the air, the sunshine breaking through the tall trees made me feel somewhat warmer.

Walkers can keep to the woodland paths which take you on a nice easy circular walk on flat terrain, or you can go further into the countryside for a longer walk. Even a relatively short walk in the countryside can make you feel good.

The lovely red-leaved tree and the green moss on the ground were lit up by the warm rays of sunshine.

Competition for food can be fierce, especially when it comes to popular feeding spots. Robins usually deter the smaller birds, but blackbirds who are obviously bigger in size are also known for their assertive behaviour, so this time, the blackbird beat the robins for the bird seed.

As I strolled further, I noticed small signs of life emerging despite the chill. Buds were beginning to form on some trees, hinting at the promise of spring. Knowing how unpredictable UK weather can be, it will probably snow again before then.
